Iron Sky Progression Mix

The soundtrack has a progression from the first part to the second. As i heard the song for the first time, I expected it to become really rockin' hard after the climax, when the cruisers are shown... but it just swept off.

So I took Ruostila's version and made my first ever self-made remix:
(and if someone can improve the timing, so please do!)

Retro_Star_Remix

This remix is even more haunting than the original! Bjork-like feeling meets synths and dark beats, spiced with some electric guitars.. Real tempo of the original files is 120bpm at the beginning and after the break 122 bpm. If someone wants I can upload a Cubase SX3-project with tempo track thats in sync with the original files..

Thinking about using this for a Iron Sky: Operation Highjump (The Videogame) http://www.wreckamovie.com/ironskyoperationhighjump Shot. I hope that is Okay with you Joonas.

Great remix by the way.

Joonas Naskali September 08, 2008 08:16 Flag

Ahem.. I'm pleased that I was able to satisfy you :D

David Yacobus September 07, 2008 23:05 Flag

Joonas, you satisfy me with the length... :D 4:35
This length is good for public performance, play it around and many will ask you what song is that, who sang it, bla bla...
Good for subliminal messaging... :D

Richard Tretzel August 26, 2008 10:45 Flag

Wow! It's amazing - great track, very nice mix.
Thumbs up!

Atte Joutsen August 26, 2008 09:46 Flag

Joonas, you're the man! I loved the part after the break, thumbs-up, way up!

Hip hop remix (not mine!)

This isn't my remix so please don't give me any thumbs-up, but wanted to bring this to people's attention by posting it here. It was mentioned on the Iron Sky Twitter channel.

It's the Iron Sky hip-hop remix by someone called D!lly, I think it's pretty good:

Progression Mix Shot 2

I don't know, my first mix just didn't sound right. After reviewing the trailer I remembered where exactly I expected the punch in. Also my first try was a bit too long.

So here's my second shot:

Under The Iron Sky (Ruostila remix)

Another Adamantium Studios team member remix ;)

I wanted to do something totally different and get the song away from film-music style. I used some drumloops, effects, a short clip from piano, violins and of course vocals from the remix pack. All the rest I've done by myself.

I really hope to get some comments from all of you!

Damn, these Adamantium Remixes are seriously cool. And what's the greatest thing is that you guys show off such agreat variety of styles. You're absolutely awesome.

Atte Joutsen September 05, 2008 07:06 Flag

Hey Jukka. This rocked! This... just.. punk rocked!!11!! What a wakeup for the day. You Adamantium guys know your business!

Thuuuuuumbs uuuuup!

Jukka Ruostila September 04, 2008 20:08 Flag

Metal? I thought it's more like modern punkrock song... Well, anyway you're not the first one who suggested the male vocals, but I think it would have been more like a remake than a remix...

It might be worth a try, though... Maybe at somepoint I may try it with completily new vocals, when I can find the time to do it.

Timo Vuorensola September 04, 2008 19:46 Flag

Un-friggin-believeable! So *damn* cool!

One thing I'm actually missing when listening to this version is maybe a male vocal version of the song. Don't take me wrong, I love Kaiti's vocals like crazy, but for this kind of a damn good metal song I kinda would miss re-recorded vocals by some good heavyscreamer!

But all in all, this is really totally something different, I love it *WAY* much!

This one is awesome. I like the start, very cool. You got some skillz man! I would love some more comments on this one. The 2:nd part with the guitar is funny and surprising. I have to say that this piece would have worked better if it was alot shorter, without the funny midle-part. Overall I liked it alot and rank it as one of the best versions of the song.

Cut-down version.

I wanted the song as a ringtone as it's really great. But since Kaiti is my friend (from back in the days) and her voice is something that I can always recognize, didn't want to hear her everytime my phone rings (love her voice, but would've been way too weird). The whole is a bit shorter and I've left a lot of stuff out. I'm not completely satisfied with everything but on the other hand, it's the third one I've ever done so it's not THAT bad. And I completely adore the piano track!

Oh, I agree with you on the piano track. You nicely emphasized it in your shot. Now I heard some things in it that I had not heard before!

"TW the original soundtrack it's quite short...
Does the adamantium guys have longer version with different verses? "

We composed and synced the song with the teaser, so that is the long that it is :P

BTW thanks all for your comments!

David Yacobus September 07, 2008 09:46 Flag

Very grandeur and majestic...
There are mechwarrior like laser SFX... Like hell break loose...
In some places is like the ancient chinese empire army shouts...
On other places is like a chant within a cathedral...
You got the force man...

BTW the original soundtrack it's quite short...
Does the adamantium guys have longer version with different verses?

Jack Malinowski September 03, 2008 23:05 Flag

This song really drains the sepea tones out of the music. It's easy to imagine the evil nazi DJ who created hypnotic music glorifying Iron Sky. Very cinematic. Scary (for the discovered moon nazis) :P

Tianyi Pan September 03, 2008 18:21 Flag

But of course I already have that :D

Atte Joutsen September 03, 2008 17:45 Flag

More of Tapani's mastery can be heard in SW:ItP soundtrack. http://store.starwreck.com/epages/TP.sf/fi_FI/?ObjectPath=/Shops/14102005-0009/Products/002
I have to advertise because he's too modest :)

Tianyi Pan September 03, 2008 16:51 Flag

I just listened in awe... amazing! :)

Atte Joutsen September 03, 2008 12:45 Flag

This was guaranteed Tappu quality. The hint of Hans Zimmer was also there. Excellent job!

Timo Vuorensola September 03, 2008 10:45 Flag

Absolutely beautiful, as can be expected from Tapani! Great job! I'd *loved* to see somebody do a video remix over this version!

Joonas Naskali September 03, 2008 07:58 Flag

Very Tapani-like version of the song. Nice harmonies at the beginning, cool 5th-element part after that and finale end with beautiful major chords. You are the man.

Well... There are times where the vocals are not in time...
However it is a damn good one.
Please smooth a little things up cos I like it especially the vocal harmony.

Joonas Naskali August 21, 2008 08:19 Flag

Nice one! I like the up beat feeling u have done there. Allso the vocal harmonies you have constructed are cool. However the vocals are not in time and thats a gives a little disturbing feeling to the remix. Structure is allso a bit long with one beat from the beginning to the end to my taste. The mix is very easy to listen, clear but not ear hurting. Allso the base is nice and the violins in the end. Good job!
