DescriptionThis is an anticipation, so of course fans of the Zelda video game series are going to want to have their own say, so go ahead. This is a general thread for any ideas you might have that do not fit into the other listed tasks.
ShotsstyleI think it would be cool if the movie has the style of a comic or like this: i think ign made a cool thing out of it but i personally don“t like the actors much, i think they should be more like the original i also think the movie should be more like the firt parts of zelda which were much cooler then the new ones the most things could be filmed in front of a bluescreen the best thing would be a mixture of real and bluescreen like in the movie "300" were the grass were in the studio and the background was bluescreen Lots and lotsI think fans of Zelda will have tons of ideas and things they want to see. Sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming to tackle a huge question like this, so you might want to add a few smaller, more specific questions / tasks here on Wreckamovie to get people going. The story obviously will be a very important part, you might want to post parts of your script here and get some feedback and input on that. Another way of involving the community is to look at specific tasks for writers, 3D artists, costume designers and so on. All this depending on what you think you will need. In any case, having some more specific tasks for the community here would be good. CommentsThis shot doesn't have comments. |

IGN's trailer makes me mad. They could of made a short film instead of a trailer. But oh well...
A Green screen & CGI combo could work well.
Using as much real footage as possible is always a plus. And totally agree, you can find everything within driving distance in California in any case, so that's a great starting point already. And you can find lots of green screen experts here on Wreckamovie, so you should be able to get some help with that.
I like your idea of color (without knowing what exactly you have in mind), very good if you come up with your own distinct look for the movie. For and example of a bit of a comic book inspired one you can check out Snowblind on here, http://wreckamovie.com/snowblind Also lots of good green screen in action in there with a bunch of the background images submitted by the wreckers on here. Reading through the various tasks and shots for Snowblind is also a very good learning experience I think.
Most is not all of the film will be filmed in California, which is basically Hyrule already. We have so many different environments here that it wouldn't be hard to just plan shots to line up with a road trip. I agree that a lot of green screen will have to be used, but I want as much "real" footage as I can get.
Interesting that you say comic, I wouldn't have thought of that.
As for IGN's trailer, which I have watched way too many times since it was first released: I think it it's an interesting approach style-wise. What I have in mind is more color driven. I also have a different lighting plan. I'm going to spend this semester of college working on understanding color better, so that I can start getting these ideas in my head onto paper and, in turn, into you critiquing hands. And, yes, the actors don't look the part, but they were probably just working with what they had. Hopefully, when casting becomes a more pressing issue I can find actors that look closer to the necessary parts, or will after a lot of hair and make-up.
Agree, not a bad trailer, especially for a April fool's day joke. Agree that it would make sense to use a lot of bluescreen, that way you could also have people from all over the planet contribute. But of course need some "real" footage as well. The good news is that there's plenty of people here on Wreckamovie that know this stuff.
Btw, the IGN making of video is also worth watching:

always good to have a peek behind the scenes.
