Description

Looking for maya and Blender artists to help the Vanguard conquer the world! Modeling, textures and animation.

Giant Battle Cruiser - this baby emerges from a wormhole in the sky above the city in the films climax. Its three football stadiums long and heavily armored.

The reference art provided is a loose guide that I'd like a 3d artist to interpret and execute. We won't see it up close until the very end in a couple of shots - so I'm thinking the most efficient method would be to project a matte painting onto the geometry for those particular two or three close ups.

Other reference I'd point to; the big ships in STARSHIP TROOPERS, the big vessels in the opening of REVENGE OF THE SITH and any of SYD MEAD's efforts.

Again we only see it up close and in detail at he very end in a couple shots, I'm most interested in a good silhouette.

I'll post more ref/ designs soonish.

Kind regards;

Eric - Director / VFX supervisor

The Transport Ship

Hello there, I might have a track for you out of our music releases that are on iTunes, Amazon and tens of others, it's a track called "The Transport Ship". I'll be glad to send it to you if you pop me an email..

If you have a budget, it's better, and if you like our stuff, we can proceed differently. I assume that this is a commercial production?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Marco

Anything more specific?

There are a lot of talented people on here who have helped me a lot with my own film, but I had to be very specific about my requirements in order to get their help.

Maybe you could post exactly what it is that you need? (i.e. specific objects or scenes that you need to create)

I would just like to add that it would be nice to have a vague deadline. I like the ideas and designes but am scared of working on too many projects at once (I'm allready into Ironsky and my own school education). So it would be nice to just know weather joining will put a blowtourch up my ass or not. Otherwise I dig the movietrailer and would be glad to help :)

Also, it will help if you rename or delete the 3 extra "3D MAYHEM!" tasks;-)

Eric, I think Peter's suggestion is on the right lines: take the text you have about the cruiser and use it to make a new task that's actually called "Design a battle cruiser" or something like that. :)

The way this site works, it's more about particular tasks rather than general themes. If you just say "3d mayhem" it's difficult for 3D artists to know what the task is about.

The tasks where I've received the most help have always been where I've put the most specific detail in the title and in the task's description.

Eric, we are happy to help in any way we can.

It's good if you add specific tasks, for example a task called Giant Battle Cruiser for the design of that one. The more specific, the better typically. Helps wreckers find tasks that they can help with.

Also, having a task called General Ideas is also good, that then captures ideas and thoughts that don't fit in any particular task.

I also suggest that you join a few of the other productions on here, that way you will quickly get a feel for how things work on Wreckamovie. And if you have any questions, just ask, lots of people here that can help.

Here we go, this is a start. I will flesh this out further and add more tasks over the next few days. Please feel free to comment and offer advice.

Kind regards;

Eric

Sorry about the vagueness of posts, haven't fully sorted the controls for posting on wreckamovie yet and had a few other commitments since that day. Was only meant to be one posting for 3D (initially). Will put together a detailed post in next few days, including reference. Thank you very much for responses. Eric

Agre with what Kris as well, you will not get many contributions for very generic tasks. People like to know what they are getting into, and it's all about open collaboration. Happy to help with that.
