Closing Note

That's done, now we need the film poster.

Description

Everywhere, on ships, in building and in teh street there are Pirk posters.
Samuli gave us some pictures to do posters.

We need a poster that will be on the bridge of all ships (except the Potkustart) to remeber the troops who is the boss here (and holds the remote to remote selfdestruction). Could be a picture and a text like "Pirk is watching you" or "Remeber the remote selfdestruction" or "Pirk is everywhere". The one for ships needs to be higher than wide, so that its fit in that illuminated booth:

Maybe something in similar to the Uncle Sam posters:

Or Big Brother style:

Else where (like in the corrdor) there are other poster which can promote other P-Fleet stuff. Also there could be some ads in which Pirk is selling stuff (money is needed) Could be like this one:

I've attached the pics and the ravenlogo in a zip-file.
More pics can be found in the pack uploaded by Samuli: http://www.starwreck.com/media/starwreck_image_kit/

The best one might be turned into a real poster.

Pirk and P-Fleet posters in high format

As requested, here be my previous P-Fleet promo posters in high A3 format.

Little humor this time, I'm afraid, but spot the Kalinka in the one with ships.

BTW, I was really tempted to follow Angelas lead to do a "There's No Peace without P" -poster with adult diapers, but just barely avoided to go there. There has to be a limit, darn it! Wetting your bed is no laughing matter, even in space, where that stuff'll just float back up right into your face...

Great posters! I'll try to get a few printed and put them in interesting places. Maybe we could ask others to do the same and get these into interesting places all over the planet.

Portrait for Pirk's Office in "Napoleon-sytle"

For the office of Pirk I tried to use "oil-painting" style.
It will be hanging right behind Pirk.
If you have idea for similar "paintings" feel free to do other one.
(Also a bust or Sculpture of Pirk could be nice)

That's very very cool! We should have some real ones made for promo use, could be a nice thing for some kind of competition for fans around Star Wreck 2pi.

A poster for the bridge

As requested, here's one Pirk motivational poster for the bridges of the ships. Comments would be highly appreciated.

Native English speakers, please help me out! Is it 'posted to' or 'at' or 'in' or what!? And is 'scrubbing' a real word? The old reliable google failed to help me this time.

BTW the wreckamovie.com is buggin out badly today. I can't seem to get this shot through. I hope it turns out well.

Brilliant - Jani - please alert Mac & other PC makers as I'm sure you're partly responsible for more than a few broken monitors.

---

can the white's of the eyes be white though?
i know pirk works 24/7 but he only has red/dry eyes
because he puts sand mixed with waste products to seem 'human'
among he's pathetic troops.

---

DO YOUR PART OR:

1. get posted to hangar bay, scrubbing cleanup duty -
2. failing there, scrubbing polishing duty -
3. failing there, scrubbing sweeping duty -
4. failing there, scrubbing moping duty -
5. failing there, death.

(null) December 04, 2009 13:34 Flag

Martin's right, it's a bit too long. I would abbreviate it to something like: "Stay sharp or it's double latrine duty!"

("latrine duty" is the military term for cleaning toilets)

Martin Lejeune December 04, 2009 11:01 Flag

The English is right, if slightly clunky, probably something like "Do your part or it's ship scrubbing duty!"

Jani Salomaa December 04, 2009 10:21 Flag

Finnish version done.

Jani Salomaa December 04, 2009 10:13 Flag

Translating that to Finnish would be a tall order. I'm in the English mode, but i'll try to get Finnish again;)

"Pirk tarkkailee sinua!" "Tee työsi, tai sinut siirretään hangaariin alusten hinkkaamispalvelukseen."

Thierry Gschwind December 04, 2009 10:05 Flag

Looks cool.
You can also put the text in Finnish, because it's the main language anyway.

Ravenform (with wings!)

Apologies if this appears gross to anyone. As a woman, I find it hilarious... it was Kris' idea, but I simply could not stop myself from making a poster of it! Enjoy! :P

Jani: Thank you for the compliments... having seen your fine works of art all over WAM, I cannot help feeling honored that you may actually think I produced something worthy of praise! *blush* Although while I do also thank you for the offer, I won't need your files for this one, as I did not work from your poster but from the original images Samuli posted earlier on. :P

Fabienne: Glad you like! I assume you will need the photoshop file? Feel free to message me privately about that (or anything else you think I may be able to help with for what matters.)

Jack: YEAH! :P

That's bloody awesome!!! Eh....uh, I mean bloody in the nice girly sorta way...

What a nice way to twist my macho poster into a militant feminist one! Great idea and great execution. Expert photoshop work, too. If you want any original poster with all the layers and graphical dingsbums, wreckmail me and i'll post them on the internets (and no, there's no layer ready for bloodsucking napkins)..

Anyways, how are periods in space? Do they have moonperiods like moondates?

Fabienne Gschwind November 30, 2009 16:41 Flag

Great! it's too funny : )) I think it will fit nicely somewhere on the brigde of the potkustart : )

I seriously hope you didn't hurt yourself falling off your chair when you saw it! :P

Thierry Gschwind November 30, 2009 15:28 Flag

In our production use the word "Dingsbums" to point at anything you don't know the word or you're too lazy to remember it.

My sister will make the comment about that poster...

(null) November 30, 2009 14:17 Flag

The official term is "sanitary towel" but bloodsucking nappy is pretty good... :)

David Jansson November 30, 2009 09:12 Flag

Just so you know, I just called it blood sucking nappies because I don't know the proper English word for them.

Anyway, really well made poster! I love the bloody humour of it.

(null) November 30, 2009 08:52 Flag

Umm... well it was a rewashable towel, and I didn't actually sew it on. But it made a nice photo, in a twisted sort of way.

David Jansson November 30, 2009 08:11 Flag

So you sewed it onto a, whatever those bloodsucking nappies are called?

(null) November 30, 2009 00:35 Flag

Woo, you did it! Excellent. :)

I should add that I suggested the phrase but wasn't expecting Angela to put actual blood on the poster... :D

(In case anyone's wondering how this began, I bought a raven sew-on patch from the Star Wreck store and tried to find some clothes and accessories to customise with it...)

I have that under construction, but it's complicated and i have lot of stuff underway.

It'll involve delicious meatballs, and Pirk's knuckles with tattooed or sharpied "Eat balls"... Only thing, i have to condense that to 8 knuckles somehow.

Power-hungry and chauvinist - the Pirk we love and (mostly) hate.

(null) November 03, 2009 02:44 Flag

This is PIRKKAAAAAAA

This is what you get for photoshopping at 3am... Suggestions and critique welcomed.

- The P-fleet chicks poster would work differently with an alternate tagline. It could be easily turned into a recruitment poster or a motivational poster for the hetero boys in the fleet. Tagline ideas, dear wreckers?

- Ditto with the fleet poster. What kind of fleet motivational posters could they have on board?

- Would the Sparta one be funnier with Spartaaaa = more "a"'s in the end?

This is Strawberry Jam!!!

Jani Salomaa November 01, 2009 15:40 Flag

I'm gonna redo the "Pirk is Sparta" one with a new tagline.

Any ideas???? The current alternatives are:

- "Pirk is watching you"
- "Never desobey me or I'll lightball your ass!"
- "Remember the remote self destruction button"

Heh, the "this is pirkka" poster could be a GREAT ad for the "Äpy" - a humor magazine published each 1st of May by the students of Otaniemi's University of Technology. They always have the weirdest and most perverted ads, and with the company's approval!

(null) November 01, 2009 10:29 Flag

Y'know I didn't notice the falafels and chocolate when I first saw the poster... Oh dear... :D

Oskar Lönnberg November 01, 2009 10:26 Flag

Daniel Saarimäki October 31, 2009 18:16 Flag

(null) October 30, 2009 21:55 Flag

There are actually a surprising number of blokes taking their shirts off in Star Wreck, it's quite a balanced film in that respect.

And, y'know... Sergei Fukov is one of the sexiest characters ever created.

Jani Salomaa October 30, 2009 21:52 Flag

Fabienne and Kris: Half-naked athletic men... Hmm... Sure, but i doubt you'll find any at the Energia office - emhasis on "athletic";)

I have a lot of posters in the pipeline. Keep the suggestions coming, I get a lot of inspiration from that! And who knows, your idea may end up on the wall..

(null) October 30, 2009 21:48 Flag

"It could be easily turned into a recruitment poster or a motivational poster for the hetero boys in the fleet. "

...and gay girls.

"Would it be possible to have also some half-naked athletic men on the poster for the female audience????"

Yeah, that would make it a bit more politically correct. :D

But would they be "property of pirk" too? :) Who knows, maybe he is more broad-minded than we think...

Fabienne Gschwind October 30, 2009 21:42 Flag

I like very much the Sparta poster "tonight we dine in hell : )))"
But I would think some classical poster we "Pirk is watching you" (like my brother suggested) would be very nice to have as screensaver.

The Girls-poster is also very well realised. I think you spent a lots of time on it....
Would it be possible to have also some half-naked athletic men on the poster for the female audience????

Jack Malinowski October 30, 2009 18:41 Flag

Wow.
Thanks Jani!

I'm getting a better of picture of the leader
and mostly understand that
he is half man / half amazing and all Pirk
which is draws an adequate portrait of my worst nightmare.

I particularly enjoy the 'this is Pirkaa' concept; it's quiet rewarding
to know that such wholesome treats can be counted upon to wreck
havoc.

Many Thanks,

JM

PS :: 'what are lightballs?' and can i have some?

Peter Vesterbacka October 30, 2009 05:28 Flag

We should approach Kesko (the grocery chain behind Pirkka) and get them to sponsor;-)

(null) October 29, 2009 10:48 Flag

I love the Pirkka one, don't know what K-Market would have to say about it though... :D

Thierry Gschwind October 29, 2009 08:43 Flag

Great stuff:

For the bridge poster: I though something classical Like "Pirk is watching you" or "Remember the remote selfdestruction" or "Never desobey me or so".
Could also be put in finnish (since it is the P-Fleet language)

Peter Vesterbacka October 29, 2009 07:37 Flag

Here's some quickly made posters used for recruitment.

Dunno about the font - too futuristic? And they could use some funnier taglines.

"If i had the right photo i'd recreate my favorite one: Stalin staying up late at night writing a letter to a young kid."

That's almost like he was trying to be Father Christmas... :)

Jani Salomaa October 23, 2009 08:21 Flag

The look is definitely influenced by old propaganda posters. The color scheme is a mix between fascist and commie looks.

If i had the right photo i'd recreate my favorite one: Stalin staying up late at night writing a letter to a young kid. Tagline: Father Stalin cares about you all! And this was during an era Stalin was more likely writing execution orders than fanmail...

Peter - I'd like to create an uniform "Join the production" -vignette i could use on all my posters (and one others could use as well). I'll see if i have time during the weekend to get it done. I'm still waiting for a printable version of the WAM logo. I don't want it to be pixelated and cheap looking on the posters.

(null) October 22, 2009 20:25 Flag

Yes, the colours are good. They're also quite like the colours in propaganda posters of the 1930 and 1940s, which fits in with Pirk's rise to power.

Great stuff! Love your ideas. The cutout effect works well on the lower one.

If you want them to look more professional, you should find a font that works in big size. Now the text is unreadable unless there's a extreme closeup shot. I always try to stay away from Windows standard fonts, 'cause they are so overused and bland. Some free fonts can be found at http://www.1001freefonts.com/
