Iron Sky Signal

Actually I get the idea about WAM News show from Iron Sky Signal which is on my oppinion the best way to present something from early development until the end. Besides my 20-years experience of making News shows for Croatian TV, which were always serious and properly formatted production and which were too serious sometimes, I think that the Iron Sky crew is doing a "Signal" in specific humorous but in the same time descent way. And that makes watchers a wish to see it once-twice more.
Of course, my intention was not to duplicate ISS :-)

@Martin: Hmm, cheap joke? :-)

@Kris Willies!

I like the Signal as well, it's entertaining, slick, and not too long. (No cheap jokes please.)

Dario Odobasich October 08, 2009 22:20 Flag

I only commented a way of making Iron Sky Signal :-)

Peter Vesterbacka October 08, 2009 20:44 Flag

Don't worry about duplication, ISS is for Iron Sky and I see no reason why you couldn't include bits and pieces of that in WAM TV. The whole idea is to feature different productions, and Iron Sky is one obviously;-)

Best shot awards

I propose a show segment in which the presenters would "award" the best shots of the month (or so).

No actual awards would be needed. The honor of being mentioned in the show would be plenty enough.

The best shots are not too hard to find - just look at most active productions and threads and find the shots with a lot of thumbs up. Another way would be to ask the production leaders for nominations.

The guy who for instance posted a text about a twitter essay competition would have my vote.

It was one of the best dark humour imaginative ideas I ever heard actually.

A Top 5 can be interesting :-)
Bookmarked...

Also, if the month's editor is allowed to choose, they can choose a greater variety of shot types which makes the "Top 5" more interesting to watch.

Dario Odobasich October 14, 2009 16:01 Flag

You're right, Kris. It's more reasonable because "Thumb-up" may be just a mechanical reaction and not a someone's real shot judgement.

(null) October 14, 2009 15:53 Flag

This is such a tricky subject to judge, maybe we should just let whoever is doing that month's episode decide the nominations and winner.

Really this isn't a proper competition, it's actually an excuse to highlight some of the best shots of that month.

Dario Odobasich October 14, 2009 15:42 Flag

Based on "Thumbs up" maybe?

Yan Pagh October 14, 2009 15:29 Flag

Nice idea.

Great idea. It could be called "Shot of the Month", with several nominations and an actual winner.

Different poster

The poster for this is identical to the WAM Platform poster, I got the two mixed up on my dashboard. Maybe this production could have a different design?

EDIT: I've added what can be used as a temporary poster. If anyone wants to do a better one feel free, but at least this won't get mixed up with the platform production.

Great poster!

(null) October 07, 2009 17:19 Flag

Yeah, there was a nice gap in the official logo for "TV" so it was quite easy really, took five minutes! :-)

Dario Odobasich October 07, 2009 16:45 Flag

Ahhhh, I didn't know about this. Thanks :-)
BTW, nice WAM TV logo....

Dario, the image you've uploaded is just the thumbnail.

To get my poster you have to click on the thumbnail.

Here's a direct link to my poster, it's already optimised for WAM's poster system:

I've changed the poster....with some sharpen cause It was only 7k JPG. I haven't a proper software here on job PC so the result is the best as it can be.

(BTW I took the photo myself at the 2Pi shoot so it's okay to use this.)

I've added what could be used as a temporary poster for this production.

Dario Odobasich October 07, 2009 11:10 Flag

I agree because yesterday in the moment of making all of this, I haven't idea what to put here as a poster so if you have something different, just send :-)

Altogether, it's a great idea! So in short, it would be a show that would do a short news roundup for Wreckamovie stuff, show all kind of cool videos etc., every now and then. I wouldn't suggest doing it weekly, maybe once every two weeks, since it's quite a big job at least in the beginning until the production pipeline is running smoothly.

This would be something we would be happily supporting officially, so let's get this thing on the road!

I agree with Timo about starting slowly and then speeding up.

Maybe the first step should be a pilot, then collect feedback, then a short series, then more feedback, and then if that's okay it could go to a truly regular series?

Dario Odobasich October 07, 2009 10:02 Flag

Timo, glad you like an Idea. The 2-weeks show is reasonable and acceptable in any way but as you said, there's plenty of job in a very start. WAM is not a TV company but if we all join our knowledge, equipment and enthusiasm, we can create a virtual news TV and it will be a total success.
