As noted in another task, part of the start of the film would have a spy satellite re-entering the atmosphere (this isn't by accident, it's designed to re-enter).

The satellite/capsule would use parachutes to slow itself down, and it would land in a forest with the capsule ending up hanging from the branches of a tree, held up by its parachute cords.

The actual landing could be done by CGI, but has anyone got any ideas for building a prop of this satellite/capsule? It would have to be fairly small to be supported by a typical tree branch, maybe something about a metre in size. The prop would be what the actors would actually interact with, so it would have to be fairly convincing. The actors would cut the prop down from the cords and then take it away.

I remember reading about spy satellites of the 1960s which contained a similar capsule delivery system where the photos were physically sent down to earth, does anyone know where there might be images of that kind of system? It might be a good reference but I don't know what the system was called.
