Late entry

Okay, this is just a LITTLE bit late for this task but here's my entry anyway, hopefully someone will enjoy it:

Thanks for the feedback! :-)

Maybe this production's status should be changed if remixes are still welcome?

I just assumed this was all over as it said "completed".

Peter Vesterbacka September 27, 2009 21:25 Flag

Great job! And if anybody else feels like doing remixes of the teaser, feel free to do so, always time for a great new remix.

Seppo Hiltunen September 27, 2009 20:13 Flag

Thumb up. Nice adaptation.

Dario Odobasich September 27, 2009 20:10 Flag

Have you try to find a job in Tourist agency marketing lately? :-)

Goran Mrganic September 27, 2009 19:02 Flag

And why is it a "late entry"? Is the remix part over?
If it is, I guess I missed that then :/

Goran Mrganic September 27, 2009 19:01 Flag

Nice approach ^_^

A Different Twist

I took the remix in a slightly different direction. The premise is America was working on similar technology but never finished. The only example is rediscovered in a 1940's trailer which is used to chase invading Nazi ufos. All the aerial photography was filmed from weight shift aircraft to simulate a flying trailer. Weight shift aircraft are a low cost alternative to helicopters for aerial filming and with proper cameras produce nice footage.

After looking at the trailer I realized I was missing 2 scenes. So back to work and a new version “The Directors cut” is available at
Daily motion
http://www.dailymotion.com/BAlvarius/video/x7a53w_rednecks-versus-the-space-nazis-dir_fun
Spike TV

I pay homage to John Wayne and “True Grit” like everyone else, anyway the top of the trailer needed work, one of the roof vents was not closing so might as well film a scene while fixing the roof.

I'm glad yall liked it and I just finished figuring out how to land the damn trailer. But no one has offered to help clean up the mess left from the plumbing pulling out (or the filming in a restored 1946 Spartan trailer).

Timo Vuorensola November 01, 2008 11:36 Flag

This was DEFINITIVELY a great take! Thanks a LOT! We had a huge laugh over this at the office. Awesome!

Oskar Lönnberg October 31, 2008 05:58 Flag

This was fun :) And cool to see something with other ideas in it.

So now what?

Just out of curiosity, really: what will happen to the trailers we made? Will any of them be used for offical promotion uses or something like that?

OK, I'll just wait for that then. Good luck ;)

Timo Vuorensola October 29, 2008 15:10 Flag

A good question! I'm just in the process of gathering them all together, so definitively yes! We'll let you know soon more!

Wow. It's so refreshing to hear the affirmations of MooNazis
I know must be out there somewhere. This music must be 'the bombs over baghdad' of the MooNazis - I bet they find it sexual healing - or at least fashionable. It's a Modern contrast to your Classic piece on the original trailer.

I wonder if the Intelligence Officers of the MooNazis would employ the Onomatopeia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onomatopoeia) in media to decrease the intelligence of their enemies. Perhaps the MooNazis would consider 'potty humor' and other such 'silliness' as 'advantageous' to their 'cause' (of bombing jews, killing gypsies, etc.). Perhaps they would go so far as to suggest that intelligent humans might be 'weird,' 'strange,' or 'suffer from social or emotional diseases.' ADD, Autism, Aspergers, etc. would go a long way to debasing the creative potential of the Earthlings and prepare them for a meaningless existence of pleasure and giggling. I would bet undercover Nazis to be preparing the way for the landing party - so that the UFOs are welcomed as Liberators rather than Conquerors.

Thanks for clearing that up, Atte.

For some insight about the genre of Iron Sky, check out the Iron Sky press release dated May 6, 2008.

"...Iron Sky is a pitch-black science fiction comedy that holds nothing sacred. It combines the dry irony of Dr. Strangelove with the visual style of invasion films such as Independence Day...."

http://www.ironsky.net/site/?p=15

David Yacobus September 11, 2008 19:58 Flag

Yep... Still many people didn't know what is Iron Sky :D
They do play games a lot and think Iron Sky is a game.

For story...
I always like comedy mixed with tragedy.

[User has left the building] September 11, 2008 19:50 Flag

You mean they thought it's a video game?

By the way, I don't know whether it will have sci-fi horror elements in it. Is it a serious story or a comedy? Timo?

David Yacobus September 11, 2008 02:12 Flag

That is exactly my point :D
Makes the audience more focus at the movement of every picture without being distracted by the soundtrack.
I already test it to my friends yesterday.

Why they ask what game is this Iron Sky? :D
They guess that it will be like starcraft or resident evil game...
They thought Iron Sky genre will be a sci-fi horror... :D

[User has left the building] September 10, 2008 16:07 Flag

Thanks! Glad you like it. I didn't use the music for two reasons:
- I thougth it looked and felt more threatening this way, more serious too
- I found it way too time-consuming to actually remix the music to fit my trailer remix ;)

There are bits and pieces of the music in it, but I used them more as sound effects than as actual music.

Thanks again!

David Yacobus September 09, 2008 22:08 Flag

Even without the soundtrack it looks great...

Teaser remix teaser

After trying to figure out a way to convert the .MOV files to .AVI files for hours (and finally succeeding), I immediately started playing around with the pack. What I have so far is by no means finished yet (it's basically a teaser remix teaser), but I just wanted to show you guys where I was heading and get some feedback before finishing it.

Watch the teaser remix teaser here:

Thanks, I'll give it some thought.

Holger Rudolph August 26, 2008 10:12 Flag

Doesn't look bad, but the time you use to open and close the iris seems very short to me. It gives the teaser a lot of speed and at the same time pressure. Maybe it's just a matter of taste, but I would give it a bit more time. :)

Downloading...

Downloading the ZIP file right now. Hopefully, I'll have something on YouTube at the end of the week.

By the way, is there a deadline of some sort for this?

Not a remix, but...

This one is not actually a remix, but just wanted to drop it here as well. This one was actually done before our teaser was released:
