We are all about creating a world around the film and we want to take some of the "hip Hop" characters that are in the film and create a storyline that will act as a prequel to them.
If you are interested, we can give you the character descriptions and go from there.
I'd like to know more about it. I'd like to know why you've chosen the hip hop characters to focus on. The theme of working together toward a common goal is always a good one, and we could use that right now. I was a heavy metal chick in high school, if you need character development ideas.
Would be cool to have some of the descriptions here, that has been working pretty well in Project WORM for example.
See http://www.wreckamovie.com/tasks/show/327 for example.
Of course there the character development was started from scratch, but still good example I think.

How often do you check this site? I'm glad they send notices to my email since I don't check nearly as much as I did when I first signed up. If you'd like to start collaborating through email, just let me know. My email address is yourpalgigi@hotmail.com
I think you have a really good, original story here. Maybe we could collaborate internetally on others, as well.
it is true. lets get it moving along...I have some bare bone ideas like Jaymes is a hip hop cat who is getting into the land of the radicals/revolutionaries. Don Roberto finds himself being looked at as a political leader, despite he saw his music as inspired thought- just meant to be self expression however the masses took to it.
I only read the list of characters and their descriptions. I was just going with ideas that came to me while I was reading it. Of course, that's what happens when I read about someone else's work. I tend to think of what I might do with the same story, but it's your story. Usually conflict drives the plot, that's why I asked about it.
We still need to create a conflict between the characters? if you also read the first 22 pages of the feature film you will see where the world takes these characters. One of them is a drug dealer, another is an urban political leader- not a politician but someone everybody looks up to.
Thoughts?
Is there conflict set up amongst the hip hop characters, like one of them is a right wing spy of sorts working with the police against the other characters? I notice they're all in their 20s, which makes sense, but could there be a slightly older character, who can remember a different time before modern hip hop? I keep getting that there needs to be someone, like Don Roberto, who is older, a sort of sage for the others, and can remember the early days of hip hop and what inspired it as the voice of the streets ("Don't push me, cause I'm close to the...edge/I'm tryin' not to lose my head"). These are just thoughts that are coming to me, but it seems like there should be someone who can be the voice of the early days because, before you can build a future, you need to know the past.
Will check them out. Sometime maybe we should talk because I had a story idea not too long ago about people who normally would never have anything to do with each other being trapped in the woods and being hunted by psychos for their fun. I abandoned, or at least set aside, my idea cause the psychos were werewolves and there's a werewolf movie being made that was a little too close to my idea for me to not feel like I need a shower, but someday, you never know. Sometimes an idea has to stew and take on a life of its own to show how it should be told.
Punks, hippies, and hip hop characters together, sounds like a whole lot of interesting.
Just uploaded the character descriptions. Check them out and tell me what you think.
We are doing so becuase the webseries on the punks and the hippies have already been written. :)
