Closing Note

Another task that ends together with the post production process!

In this department, Wreckamovie really kicked ass and helped us out a lot! So our thanks go to all those who contributed, and of course everyone whos photos we used got credited in the end crawl for "digital photography"

For now, let me give a special mention to some people - Jani for kicking it all off; Arturo for basically covering his whole home town; and Thierry for going out on several expeditions to get us some awesome "snow road" coverage. Last but not least is Zerafine, who contributed so many photos that we will surely be using them in Snowblind 2 and 3 as well ;D

Of course, we never tire to mention those stories in interviews and the press is always very interested in them!

Wreck On!

Description

This task goes out to all photogaphers out there - Professionals and amateurs alike!

The backgrounds are what will make Snowblind stand out - Due to the green screen process, we now have all possibilities to make the film look exciting.

And YOU can help us - if you have any pictures of snow-covered landscapes or buildings, just post them here! Of course you'll get properly credited if we use your stuff, plus we'll try and send out some DVDs, Blu-Rays or whatever merchandise we can come up with :D

Thanks,
Kalle-Max ^_^

Here some of the stuff I already send to Kalle. Everything shot in Norway.

More to come, made some more pics today.
If you ever should do Snowblind 2, you should shoot it in Norway. There is snow from November to April (at some place even June)

Kalle Max Hofmann April 02, 2010 22:23 Flag

Brilliant, thanks again :D It's almost like making a wish to a fairy - you ask for something, and only a couple days later, it's on your FTP server ;P

We need some snowy mountain roads!

This just in: We're desparately looking for photos of roads in mountainy landscapes. It can either be in a valley with mountains in the background, or serpentine-style roads winding up a mountain. And the landscape should preferably covered in snow ;P

We need these shots to put in 3D vehicles speeding down said roads... matching the perspective of your photos. So anything you can dig up, or shoot, if you live in an area that has mountains, is MOST welcome!

(and it's kinda urgent too, hehhe)

Thanks a lot,
Kalle-Max ^_^

Hi Thierry, yes if we get those photos right after easter, they could still make it into the film... if the 3D guys are quick enough putting in their animations! So if you come across some suitable motives, please feel free to snap away and send the photos over :D I know you could even make your own 3D vehicles and animate them, but Star Wreck IIpi probably won't leave any time for this ;P

Thierry Gschwind March 03, 2010 14:57 Flag

Hi, I'm going for easter in the norwegian mountain. There should still be enough snow around then.
I have some pohto from such a road, unfourtenately it's from summer.
Is easter that too late ?

Terragen

I can probably provide some background terrains, maybe a large field of snow. Tell me if you need anything like that.

UPDATE: Here is a video-no sky though-yet.

Can you PM me your email adress? It's probably gonna be too big to upload here ;-)

BTW what is it with those users leaving the building after their first post? I know a lot of celebrities have died this year but this is getting out of hand ;P

Ronen Khazin December 26, 2009 18:44 Flag

Well, I now have internet again, so send it and I'll see what I can do.

[User has left the building] December 26, 2009 05:49 Flag

cool

Kalle Max Hofmann December 25, 2009 22:42 Flag

Cool... I could send you the movie clip so you can see if you think you can match the movement... But if you have no internet, that doesn't make too much sense ;-) So, when will you be able to download stuff to your computer again?

Ronen Khazin December 25, 2009 19:10 Flag

Well, I can maybe make a road, but this may take a little while. Give me 2-3 days. My internet is down for a bit (I'm at a friend's house) so I don't have anything else to do.

Kalle Max Hofmann December 24, 2009 19:07 Flag

Wow this scenery looks quite convincing - almost in the league of Vue and I hear that takes forever to render! The only problem is we'd at least need to see a road that they drive on... and as I understood this version of the program can do nothing but rocks and water?

Ronen Khazin December 24, 2009 15:30 Flag

Alright, I have uploaded it. What do you think? You probably won't use this one, but if you tell me exactly what you need, I can make a better one.

Ronen Khazin December 23, 2009 16:40 Flag

I'll see what I can do quickly right now. Be done in an hour, probably.

Kalle Max Hofmann December 23, 2009 16:02 Flag

Well the thing is we have a shot where the motorbike is "driving" (actually it is standing still on a big turntable while the actors get their faces blasted with wind machines) so it's supposed to look like the camera is doing a 180° flight around it. That's why the landscape has to be created in full 3D and I it seems our 3D guys are running out of time having to do so much other stuff...

Ronen Khazin December 23, 2009 15:28 Flag

It is possible, but only with terragen 2, which I don't know how to use. Yet. I'm learning. You could maybe make it in different software then make a plate out of that ond put it on top of the terrain.

Kalle Max Hofmann December 23, 2009 14:02 Flag

Hi Ronen, thanks for the animation! Is it possible to do vegetation like snow-covered trees, bushes and stuff like that inside that software? If so, we could use it for some "driving" shots...

Ronen Khazin December 23, 2009 13:27 Flag

All right then, here's a video I made quickly, no sky though for now, soon will upload another one.

Ronen Khazin December 20, 2009 17:09 Flag

Sure. Just tell me what is needed and I'll get right on it. I have 2 weeks of nothing to do right now.

Jani Salomaa December 20, 2009 09:58 Flag

Post it, Ronen! I want to see your photos.

Even better: make a gallery on your server (or google docs) with high resolution photos and post the link.

They can use all the good photos they can lay their hands on.

Of course we want all those pics ASAP :D
