Description

Looking for a film title logo to incorporate the custom spade (as seen in current logo), the red circle and the words DEUCE OF SPADES. Logo to be used on the film Poster, DVDs, Tshirts, film cards, and promo material.

Note that the film is a drama with quite a bit of substance. The typeset should reflect that, and preferably be fifties period correct.

FEEL FREE TO REDO THE SPADE GRAPHICS FROM SCRATCH IF YOU CAN PRODUCE BETTER QUALITY. Look and proportions of the spade should, however, remain unchanged, as the spades is seen in many scenes in thefilm and is painted on thecar.

I would like to keep the "old, warn out, scratched up paint" feel the letters our current logo has.

I like the feeling of the second version here, the type of the letters is something I could imagine to have origin in the 50's.

It looks nice and simple.

or is this too much like an old cliche?

Thank you for making these comments. The idea of the use of the spade -element was another in my mind as I read first that task explanation...printing on t-shirts, cards, mugs etc. And I got to admit I am not a pro in picture manipulation, far from that...

This is too large and elaborate for a logo. As I said, I need the spade, (same design that I have), and I need the name of the film. No need to add a lot of other elements, unless maybe if they were an important part of the fabric of the film. (ex: the letter, the chain and ring or even the tree) It is all in the treatement of both elements, the texture, old paint scratched up feel, and the colors. remember the film is a serious drama. So the logo / film title needs to reflect that.

hi Guys, thansk for taking a shot at this. i am a bit new at this so bare with me. This graphic you submistted is that just a rough sketch?

What does the red triangle represent?

Peter Vesterbacka August 04, 2009 06:50 Flag

Just a thought. Have you seen the motion poster that the guys did for Iron Sky at http://www.ironsky.net ? That kind of format would be very interesting for Deuce of Spade as well I think. But let's see what Faith thinks, she's the boss.
