Here is the concept that I chose for my music video for Is This Just A Dream. The concept is from Gert-Jan Van de Voorde written while listening to the lyrics:
The saxophone intro is in a jazz café where a band is playing. There is a close-up of the saxophone player. ?When she starts to sing (((Ooooh ouoooh haha ouooho))) the camera turns to her (she is sitting at the bar on a high chair there are some flashing neon lights in the backround and on the floor there is a light red fog) While she sings she looks at a picture (the photo is old and has been kept in a pocket for a long time)
At (((Then I wake up lying next to you ))) she lays in a bed in a white, clear room (here too is a fog on the floor but white, out of the window a sunrise is seen). She get's up turns at (((Is this just a dream))) to the guy next to her (the same as on the picture) the camera shows both of them.
Back in the café at (((Feels like these images of you))) now she sees his reflection in the mirrors, she looks at the tv where he is smiling upon her, everywhere she looks he seems to be there.
At the second (((Then I wake up lying next to you))) back in the room. She is sitting on the bed and looks at him while he gets dressed
At (((I love they way you're touching me))) he kisses her goodbye (on the cheek, lips later) she enjoys the kiss very much.
He leaves the room (((Is this just a dream Can it really be?))) she sings until (((Tell me that it's not just in my mind))) during this time she walks around, she touches things dreamely, but she looks extremely happy.
Back in the jazz cafe at (((Is this just a dream Can it really be? until the end))) She looks around and when she looks at a relfection or at the tv the reflection disapears. Near the end she looks at a reflection and it doesn't fade away then she looks at where the reflection comes from and sees the guy at the entrance. She smiles, he smiles they look eachother in the eyes and he comes sitting next her. '''"Note that the fog dissapears along with the reflections and is totally gone when he comes in'''" ?The camera moves away from the couple and ends where it started: at the saxophone player.
As you can see on the sketch of the map of the café there is one big window that offers a splendid view on a street by night but the window is barerly showed, only perhaps a lttle part in the beginning and on the end wen there is a close up of the door.
The jazz café's its walls are red and have squares in bas-reliëf every 50 cm. In the squeres there is A) a mirror, framed with a beautiful frame or B the quares are filled with pictures radomly spread across the rectangle. I would say that Art Nouveau would fit it nicely. The floor is red too and fixed carpet; this results as I picture it a perfect location to start with.
I wwas thinking at a room that is white and has big arched windows. The furniture could perhaps better be white too and perhaps modern. The big arched windows are put on a sort of balocony. the bacloney's roof is a half dome, by the way. So the whole balcony is closed except of course for the big window that are opened. In frond of the windows there are white, semitransparent sheets, waving lightly in the warm wind. of you look outside you look down on a beach and a quite town.
The sun is raising and throws a golden light on the beach and in the room. Not to forget that the beach is several meters beneath the room.
The bed has also white sheets, (or another light color like perhaps sky blue) the sheets are thin, let's say it is a hot summer and you can sleep without think blankets.
Basic idea for what that room could be like.
This is the idea of a map I had of the jazz Café
