Let's try some suggestions. This kind of wiki (there or any other central place) would be great. Approaching from a non/tiny/small budget view especially. I have no experiance in making film (not yet) but am an enthusiast, and I know about lot of the things that are part of making a feature film in the "big world".
What I would like to know are experiences, tips and ways to get better (good) results with a small budget. Like these:
- Boom sound recording with DV video - solutions for mics, mixers etc. How to get a working dialog sound with a boom (external) mic and a DV camcorder?
- Sound mixing and workflow in the BIG LEAGUE, (like 5.1 mixes) - is the mix done entirely on a pro tools or nuando etc. studio with sync to the video with a timecode, and/or at what point is the mix actually "mixed down" and joined to the video? And how do people replicate this with lower end hardware. Or do most just mix sound in the video editor?
- Mastering of film sound - music is mastered after mixing by specialised professionals mostly, and nowadays really really compressed. But what is the norm in film, how and how much is the final mix mastered?
- ADR, how much and how do small budget filmmakers do dialogue replacement, and what workflows do you have for it? (this goes together with the previous question of overall sound mix workflow on a film).
Naturally also info on:
- Tips for really LOW budget lighting, specially low key lighting (the basics of lighting is fairly well documented in the net, but low/non budget experiences is a different matter).
- Low budget blue/green screen - where to get a screen / diy screen (materials etc), lighting a bluescreen shot (again, lot of documentation is for how to do bluescreen keying and filming, but more tips on the low budget pitfalls and shooting with a DVcam with poor image quality).

You know the funny thing? I actually put a lot of work into that jagged edge to make it look more like the original banner. And then, days later, they go and change it...
Well, it's good enough. :)
There, I am not sure it looks better though.
David, sorry about that, yes, I've uploaded the orange one as this production's logo.
One bit of feedback, would it be possible to make the logo's edges less jagged? Maybe blur the image a bit?
New version uploaded.
And, I repeat myself:
"Any other suggestions? Kris, what do you need for it be usable?"
I think the third one would work well if I make it look like it looks on my laptop screen when on my new screen. Let me see.
Any other suggestions? Kris, what do you need for it be usable?
I like the red versions, but it's a bit too simplistic for my taste. The logo isn't THAT memorable. Maybe adding a couple of screenshots of productions on the bottom would do the trick.
On my two screens it shows up as red, not pink nor purple;)
If you need to get the the color right for sure, go with Pantone color scheme in Photoshop. That's what they use in print when everything else fails. It is pretty limited though.
That's the thing, it's purple here.

Edit:
The orange one hurt my eyes on my fathers screen. And the purple/pink was more towards the pink.
Baaah. It's time to get that screen.
Do not worry that much... *hug*
It's just that I hate pink. A personal issue, really. I was once forced to school wearing pink trousers when I was a teenager, and I was severely bullied because of that.
Gosh, I *really* hate pink. ;)
Double crap! I will buy an external computer screen as soon as I can afford it. I bet that I will be compelled to redo all the material colours in Stick Wreck then...
Crap. I think I am seeing another colour...
Damn sucky laptop screen... I did this digital painting, with a canyon in muted colours. Then I went to the photo shop and handed it in as a digital photo. I was shocked by how bright the colours were...
Oh crap, I ain't the best in the world at colour composition. But I am probably not as bad as I appear due to my bad screen...
OMG... it is PINK! Aaaaarghh... ;)
A more mellow version added.
I like the gray one personally, but then again, I do *not* like too bright colors. ;)
A book? How archaic.
Just kidding. What about a clapper?
Did a new version that says Wiki.
I like the red personally, but then I am into bright colours. :)
Just wondering if we should have some kind of logo, like a book icon or something?
New version. Is it too gaudy?
Grey with a red background didn't work. Red is too dominant.
Edit: Pure grey is dominated by most colours.
David, how about some colour for the background? Maybe have a grey "A" and a red background?
Feel free to use the poster, no problem. Could be good to give it a bit of a different color as Kris suggested, that way it will stand out a bit more.
That has never stopped me. :)
I'm not a graphic artist I'm afraid... :/

If you want to work on it yourself.
Ok. Gaaaaaah! It's that damn fitful file type not supported bug again.

I don't want to use an official logo until they're actually making it official... :/
That was the point, to give it an air of officialness.
But, nothing is impossible. I just need to get away from the computer for a while. Been sitting here all day, going to take a walk down to the school.
I'm uploading the GIMP-file though. Then you can experiment with it yourself.
Hmm... Could it be made a bit less similar to the WAM platform poster?
For example even just changing the colours might help...
