Description

we not only care about the picture of snowblind but about the sound as well.

we have a great band working on the main soundtrack. check it out:

http://www.myspace.com/folkadelichobojamboree

and we have a great song performed by oure actor ricky playing duke. his song "up in the mountains" will also be in the finished movie. you can enjoy it here:

http://www.myspace.com/universalsuspects

this lead us to the great idea to release YOUR music for Snowblind!
we are planing to release the original soundtrack on an audio-cd AND to bundle it with a mp3-cd... containing your work inspired by the project.

maybe your music is so great that we end up with asking you to do it for the final film.

so... for all the mc`s and sound designers... this is your task.

looking forward to hear from you :-)

cheers, bastian

Nooo! Ve vant ze gitar mein Herr!!!

;-P

Pasi Pitkänen December 28, 2009 14:10 Flag

I'm gonna drop the live guitar thing and use samples instead. It's out of my hands but I will try to make the final version as good as I can.. :)

Kalle Max Hofmann December 26, 2009 22:09 Flag

Cool that you're still on it :D

Pasi Pitkänen December 26, 2009 22:03 Flag

I had a little setback with the live guitar so i'm gonna make the final version of this song in january and post it here.

Kalle Max Hofmann September 13, 2009 17:21 Flag

Awesome! I'm looking forward to THAT :D

Pasi Pitkänen September 13, 2009 16:59 Flag

There will be a new version of this song with live guitar so stay tuned.. ;)

Pasi Pitkänen August 06, 2009 05:52 Flag

@Carl: Thanks :)

Carl Morys August 05, 2009 22:50 Flag

Yes its nice! Like Kalle said in your other music, some times the orchestral sounds sound a little fake... But in this song it is 90% okay ;-) I would also put it on the cd :-)

Pasi Pitkänen August 03, 2009 20:02 Flag

@Mathias: Thanks for the comment..haha :)

Mathias Jürgens August 03, 2009 16:30 Flag

this sounds lovemaking awesome!!! Dark, cold, dangerous, (anti)heroic, simply fantastic!

Pasi Pitkänen July 31, 2009 07:48 Flag

Thanks for the comment Kalle. :)

Kalle Max Hofmann July 31, 2009 00:39 Flag

Cool! Morricone meets Carpenter I'd say... Replace the orchestra with analogue synthesizers and it's all Carpenter ;P

So this is just what we had in mind for our "inspired by..." community CD :D

If this is still on I could compose another song for this mp3-CD? :)

Any wishes?

Ok. Hopefully I can surprise you then..hehe

Kalle Max Hofmann December 26, 2009 22:11 Flag

Well actually there havn't been exactly boatloads of entries so we're far from filling an entire CD... But I hope this gets better once the film is out. And even if not, there's always some use for a good track :D
So... as a director's favourite saying goes: Surprise me ^_^

Hm, "Guitar Warning" sounds like a very good name for a new Track ;P
I´ll think about that "more western- style- influences", maybe some guitar or harmonica... we´ll see.... ;)

Kalle Max Hofmann August 26, 2009 19:51 Flag

Thanks Udo, you should put up a guitar warning though... my headphones almost exploded ;P Apart from this little dynamic imbalance, it's a cool track... but it could be even more western-y for my taste ^_^

Thank you very mutch, Kalle and Seppo!! :)

Kalle Max Hofmann August 19, 2009 21:15 Flag

Yeah nice scores, some with Blade-Runner-like soundscapes! I especially liked "Silent Road" as I was a huge Trip Hop fan back in the day... until someone decided it wasn't "hip" anymore so people stopped making it. A really strange phenomenon in the history of music I think!

Seppo Hiltunen August 19, 2009 19:14 Flag

sounds good. I can imagine those as soundtrack for a film production. Thumb up!

Udo Fischer August 19, 2009 13:45 Flag

Thank you! :) added the direct links to the four songs, this should help ;)

Kalle Max Hofmann August 19, 2009 13:16 Flag

Strange it seems I'm too stupid to operate last.fm... either it doesn't play at all or it skips around to tracks from other artists/albums... What I think I heard from you sounded quite good though ;-)

@Kalle: I'm working on a tribute song for Ennio Morricone and I will give you a demo version of it as soon as I'm pleased with it..

Kalle Max Hofmann July 22, 2009 09:06 Flag

Great, I'm really looking forward to it! Or should that be "listening forward"?
Hehhe ;P

Pasi Pitkänen July 22, 2009 08:58 Flag

Thanks for the comments. Yes, on the older songs some of the strings sound fake but I'm working on getting better samplelibraries or even a real orchestra. :D

I'll see what I can do about the Amnesia remix..

Kalle Max Hofmann July 21, 2009 15:48 Flag

Hi Pasi, nice scores you got there! Well, on some the strings sound a little fake so maybe you should get some better sample libraries ;-)
The one I like best is Amnesia. Maybe you could do a Snowblind remix with some western elements... Especially that flute melodie should be accompannied by a semi-professional men's choir as in Morricones scores for "A Few Dollars More" and "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly". This would TOTALLY rock :D

My stuff is a bit more modern...

...so Im not sure how it would fit, perhaps in moods of the movie.

Well, its worth a shot:

What about our old buddy, the Elemental Master? You wanna put some of his stuff on that mp3 cd?

I guess there's also lots of other interesting tunes to find on justaloud.com...

As you've probably noted, we used one of eM's tracks for our green screen reel... Again ;)

Kalle Max Hofmann July 11, 2009 09:21 Flag

You know me, I could listen to lounge dub all day... but you can't really say these tracks were inspired by Snowblind - we'd at least have to have some banjo remixes or something ;-) And the same also goes for all the other tracks at justaloud or any other indie music site... I guess we'll try those later; in case we really can't get 700 megs of futuristic western surf dub trance score together ;P

Cheers,
Kalle-Max

Can't resist shooting this

It's a European Western. This is a European band playing Westernesque music. It's a man berating the trouble a woman causes, a classic interlude in this sort of story. It's not free to use per se, but I'd be surprised if the band in question weren't co-operative. I have email contact if you're interested. Cheers
