The GDR was never formally ended, nor Germany united.
There was an 'Annexation'. If there would have been a reunification, then the occupying forces would have returned home, and the 'Deutsches Reich' would exist with it's own constitution. That could be changed by the populace.

-Sure, the 'new' States split from the GDR, and attached themselves to the FGR.
So the FGR remains. (and Ernst Thälmann Island, by Cuba, with it's GDR-Attack-Iguanas, lol)

Die DDR wurde ja nie aufgelöst, bzw. Deutschland nie wiedervereinigt.
Es gab einen 'Anschluß'. Wenn es eine Wiedervereinigung gegeben hätte, wären ja die Besatzungsmächte heimgekehrt, und es gäbe wieder ein 'Deutsches Reich' mit eigener Verfassung. Die dann vom Volk geändert werden kann.

-Klar, die 'neuen' Bundesländer haben sich von der DDR losgesagt, und sich der BRD angeschlossen.
Also gibt's nur noch die BRD. (und die Ernst Thälmann Insel bei Kuba, mit ihren DDR-Kampfiguanas, lol)

Was ist der Unterschied?
-Die BRD ist ein besiegtes Land.
