Description

Howdy my fellow Moviewreckers,

let me steal this task from Iron Sky...:

What would be a catchy tag line to be featured on the Snowblind poster and in trailers? Something like "WHO LEFT THE FRIDGE OPEN?"

Hehhe... No that's from Tropic Thunder... Well it shouldn't be as funny, after all our film has a serious story at it's core... but it could play with the fact that we're combining western with a post-apocalyptic scenario and WINTER of course :-)

I think a good reference would be the style of "Firefly".

So get your brains in rotation people!

The Hottest Snow Ever

Haha, "No more Mr. Ice Guy!" is hilarious! It's a little too comical as an official tagline but for a Clayton-character-poster tagline, it would be just great!

Love, guns, heart, bullets

In the eternal winter of tomorrow -
... only bullets can keep you warm.

In the future love and bullets are the same -
... so you'll better be shure your heart isn't out of ammo.

A gun without a heart is worthless -
... but so is a heart without a gun.

In the future wise men wear guns -
... instead of hearts.

In the future an eye of a women is like a pistolmouth -
... problem is, only one of them shoots with bullets.

BTW it turned out to be not as reversible as we thought... May dad's Yamaha still looks like an antique rustbucket ;P Just good fortune he likes it cause it makes him feel like The Road Warrior ;D

Carl Morys June 22, 2009 21:31 Flag

I believe in brown hair spray... If anyone of you wreckers out there has to create a stained/rust/decay effect that has to be reversible (as we did with our motorbikes), that's the way to do it!

Or... well... Just use gaffa tape to cover up the damage ;-P

Ice cream Western

In a homage to spagetti western it could be something like

Ice cream western
Freezer Pop Western
Cornetto Western

What about "Spaghetti-Eis Western" ? ;-)

Bastian Schreitling July 04, 2009 14:18 Flag

i love the eisbein western :-) i think a translation could be - knuckle of pork... dosnt sound so cool... lets stick to the eisbein...

(null) July 04, 2009 11:14 Flag

Kalle, Techsploitation would be a great term for it, a lovely reference to the cheap films of the 1950s - 1970s.

Kalle Max Hofmann July 04, 2009 08:51 Flag

Actually we'd like to go even further than that and create a term for this new type of inexpensive greenscreen-movie-making. Its a different type of film making, enabled through technology, and thereby it allows for different themes (mostly a little more "nerdy", like graphic novel and sci-fi stuff). Of course, these productions also often take nods at the maker's most beloved film classics.

It could be called something like "Techsploitation".... Well only something that doesn't look as stupid in writing ;-)

Cheers,
KMH

Peter Vesterbacka July 03, 2009 21:06 Flag

Eisbein sounds good, at least it's very original. why don't you start using that in all your interviews and before you know it, you have created a new genre;-)

(null) July 03, 2009 11:27 Flag

Cornetto Western would be good in countries that know the cornetto brand of ice cream (UK etc).

Kalle Max Hofmann July 03, 2009 10:52 Flag

Haha not bad... Of course, the term Spaghetti Western also hinted at Italy as the country of origin for those films. So NOW I have a great idea, instead of calling it a "Kraut Western", Snowblind is in fact an "Eisbein Western"!!!

Literally translated, "Eisbein" means "ice leg", it's a traditional German dish with the lower front or hind leg of a pig in its center.

So we have ice, we have Germans... Almost as good as "Dead Snow" hehhe...

Cheers,
KMH

The concept of snowfights could definitely be developed further...

- "Snowblind - the Six-Shooter Snowfight"

Any better ideas, anyone?

Seppo Hiltunen July 17, 2009 16:34 Flag

"cold, freezing and no direction home"

That is what the trailer and the name of the movie suggest first in my mind.

Carl Morys July 17, 2009 16:14 Flag

I think "Simple, but smoking cool!" would be a good tagline in it's own right! It really fits the idea behind the project! Hehhe... ;-P

One more, for weekend's sake!:

"Snowblind - Smokin' Cool!"

- Suggested as a tagline from my original idea by the señor mastermind Carl Morys.

Ice Age

Are you Snowblind? It's not Ice Age 4.

and the poster could then be a parody of the Ice Age posters.

A couple of tagline ideas

- "Gunpowder Never Freezes"

- "Snowblind - Fires Up The Winter"

- "Snowblind - The Coolest Western Ever"

- "Snowblind - The Below Zero Western"

- "Cowboys with Snowmobile Horses"

- "Wind Will Scatter Frozen Ashes"

- "I love the sound of bullets sizzling through ice"

(This one's adapted from Calvin and Hobbes comics:)
- "I keep two Magnums in my pocket: One's a gun, i keep it warm. One's a bottle, it keeps me warm"

LOL you're really onto something there... Especially the third one XD
I'll tell our producer to get a move on with the photo clearances so you can start working on those posters ;P

Jani Salomaa July 13, 2009 17:58 Flag

You guys picked my favorites. But they should be used in diffents visual settings:

"The Coolest Western Ever" would fit your example poster - It's generic but catchy, and it gives an instant idea of what the movie is about.

"Gunpowder Never Freezes" makes me think of a poster with something, ANYTHING blowing up in a very icy landscape. Or alternatively, the profile of a hand holding a gun so frozen that there are big icicles hanging from the barrel. If you wanna emphasize action, use this one.

And how about "True Love Never Freezes"? Heck, westers are supposed to be über-romantic and cheesy! That poster would need to feature the romantic interests in the movie... Or a man kissing his the barrel of his smoking gun (maybe with a girl's name carved in the handle;)

Kalle Max Hofmann July 02, 2009 19:46 Flag

Maybe for SB1 one could make it even more kitschy by turning it into "Love Never Freezes" à la Dracula... On the other hand, most of us know that love CAN freeze over in real life ;P

Cheers,
KMH

Carl Morys July 02, 2009 18:53 Flag

I also like "Gunpowder never freezes"!
Maybe that would be a good tagline for "Snowblind 2" where weather conditions are far worse...

Glad you liked it, the concept of this film is really interesting , wich makes it easier to brainstorm:-)

Kalle Max Hofmann July 09, 2009 09:10 Flag

"The snow is burning", ha ha that's pretty cool... In fact "Burning Snow" would also be a good film title... What was that one with Steven Seagal called? Ah I just imdb'd it: "On deadly ground" was named "On burning ice" in the German dubbed version. Nice one!

Cheers,
KMH :D
