Shot posting problems & New spammer

While the login and stability issues are now fixed, it seems that there are now users who cannot post shots. This applies at least to Carl L. - when he tries to post a shot it just gives the "something went wrong"-error. Private messages and comments work fine.

Also, we've had spam in our older blog posts' comments lately from this user:

I have him/it banned from the production, but it doesn't seem to stop him/it from posting news comments.

I think it was something to do with Facebook login, as it already has been the case once, if you check this task.

I cannot post any shots, only comments and tasks. Also I cannot use the Facebook login. That might be related, maybe.

Thanks for the reply, I'll ask Carl for details on this.

The spammer's kept posting a couple of news comments with links to ads every week since my shot.

Also as an additional note I had troubles signing in the whole day yesterday. I could browse the site while not signed in, but the moment I signed in the whole site started giving the "something went wrong" -error until I forced it to log out by resetting the session. Hasn't happened before for me.

Hi,

the error with shot giving might come up if user has javascript disabled on their browser. That's the only way I could replicate this error.

We'll see what we can do with this spammer.

Late to the game gents, but I suppose I should have been more vocal about my activity before: I have been deleting spam productions and spam members every turn I can, but obviously it has not been enough. We have some protection in place now to keep spam members from signing up, but need to work on the production side still.

Major Login Problems!

Lately I get reports from a lot of people who aren't unable to log into wreckamovie anymore. Some of them even say the login page won't load at all.

This is of course a major problem, as even supporters of the site are turning away from it =(

So if there's still anyone out there doing site maintenence... could you please have a look at this? I've got the feeling the future of Wreckamovie kind of depends on it!

And everyone who has experienced such problems, please explain them here. I've never had any trouble (apart from times when the whole page was down) so I'm suspecting it's got something to do with facebook login...?

Hey guys.

We're sorry for the trouble login-page has given for a while. It was facebook-login that was causing those errors. We've also been experiencing some issues with our servers, that we honestly had nothing to do with. And because of that we haven't been able to update WAM for a while.

Now they have been fixed, login should work (even facebook-) and site should be much faster. And for the rest of this year, Markku and myself are quite busy trying to get out of school and graduate, but we'll try to maintain WAM when we can.

Neither have I. But for example Sami Laulajainen said he couldn't log in for ages so he's not visiting anymore, and Samuli Jomppanen who has some major projects here can't log in for a couple days now. My friend Bastian Schreitling said logging in took ages but worked, but the site generally is totally slow at his place. Really weird! And potentially very damaging to the life expectancy of Wreckamovie =(

Sorry if I'm sounding overly negative, but this site is really a great project and it would be a shame to just let it die a slow and painful death!

News comment deletion not working

Looks like there's something wrong with the "delete selected" in blog post comments, I tried to delete some inappropriate comments but the system only gives tells me "comments destroyed" without actually doing anything. Tested in Chrome and IE.

Return of the Bots

Some fake users have been spamming various pages with meaningless text elements and links, like below this news blog:
http://www.wreckamovie.com/productions/snowblind/blog/1013

I think the easiest solution to this would be, if production leaders could delete shots and comments themselves... this would allow for fast "clean-up-action" without even having to bother any Admins ;D

I can't edit my production - help

I am new here. My problem is that I have added a new production and several things does not work:
1. The production was published twice and I don't know why
2. I can't change the name
3. I can't upload a production image
4. The info-button does not work

Would be very happy if someone could help me. ^Helen

I've been having the same problems with the info button for a few days now, looks like some others have the same bug too.

It used to work fine though, so hopefully they'll fix it soon. :)

I've been slapped by a large trout.

First - The facebook - login button is gone, instead it shows that I (Sami Laulajainen) is logged in. I can't see anything of my personal mails or stuff and I can't access my projects.

This has gone on for a year or so.

Second - I order a new password for me to my Yahoo.mail, activate it and find out that Sami's mail is now linked to my wife's Kristiina's wreckamovie account.

WTF and how Can I Log into Sami.Laulajainen account? Now that FB-log doesnt exist and my mail is linked to another account.

FB log works for me too. Apparently I have logged my wife to wam with my spamm adress :)

But the login button disappears from time to time

UPDATE :

I have linked my gmail account to my wam account. but the gmail account does not let me in at all. I ordered a new password for me.

As I tried to log in I got :

"To activate your user account, please click the link in email sent to you after registration. Search your spam folder if needed."

Did you guys de activate me or something?

I have no idea why my spamm mail account is related to my wife's wam acocunt.

New Spam Wave

A user called "haoba" (probably bot) is currently swamping the site with meaningless text blocks full of links. Probably a means to cheat search engines or something... very annoying =(

What about the option to flag a user for the admins?

I very much support the idea of flagging users, my dashboard feed is pretty much useless until this guy is out of the picture. :(

I could delete the comments from my own production myself, but it's of little use until the source is eliminated.

"Haoba" is back, only this time he's called "hoho" - seriously flooding every task with his dvd links.

Looking at my old shot again, I have to get back to the idea of flagging USERS - because if somebody is a spammer, that'd probably the best way to identify them.

Also I think it would be nice if production leaders could delete shots and comments themselves. That way, accidental double posts and spam/hate/porno/whatever texts could be removed from the site with the highest efficiency... without the need to trouble any admins ;D
