That's true ^_

Daniel Saarimäki March 20, 2010 18:14 Flag

It's sometimes like: You press the button once, but the evil AI makes it to be a double-click.

Kalle Max Hofmann March 20, 2010 15:35 Flag

It's more like: If you slip off the mouse button, or if you have an itch, it sometimes happens that you involuntarily double-click. Then the system is confused because it registers the first click and thumbs up the content, but hasn't got enough time to remove the thumbs-up-button before the next click registers. So it says "couldn't be thumbed up" because one user can only thumb up once.

Hope you can make any sense out of my layman's speak ^_^

Daniel Saarimäki March 20, 2010 14:19 Flag

Nobody wants to buy it if it has a bad AI and you wouldn't get those moneys. It can mess the whole system.

David Jansson March 20, 2010 13:18 Flag

If my computer is developing an AI with opinions I would, uhm, probably sell it to research and buy an even better computer for the money!

Sami Laulajainen March 20, 2010 12:10 Flag

Maybe your computer thinks that the content should have been thumbed down :)

David Jansson March 20, 2010 08:41 Flag

Ok. Now it seems it registered after all.

Stop confusing me!

Completed films list missing films in distribution

If you select the "Completed" film option it ought to show you all the films that have been through the entire production process:

http://www.wreckamovie.com/productions/list/all/completed

But there are some productions (such as Sauna) which are completed, but they aren't listed because their status is "Distribution".

Isn't distribution the same thing as completed, if it's available to buy or rent?

Ok, thanks Peter!

Peter Vesterbacka March 19, 2010 00:48 Flag

Will get it fixed. Bare with us.

Thierry Gschwind March 18, 2010 22:26 Flag

@ Kris: I mentioned it to Peter during a Skype call, there was no shot done. So you couldn't see it.

Kris S. March 18, 2010 18:32 Flag

"I already mentioned that to Peter a few weeks ago."

Thierry, sorry about that, I didn't see your thread. I'll give you some thumbs up to compensate. :)

"I think the ordering is by date in which the production was made in WAM. When Iron Sky is finished it will be the first in the list."

That does seem a bit odd, wouldn't it make more sense to have the newest completed production at the top?

Daniel Saarimäki March 18, 2010 16:02 Flag

Okay. Thanks for information.

Thierry Gschwind March 18, 2010 15:31 Flag

I think the ordering is by date in which the production was made in WAM. When Iron Sky is finished it will be the first in the list.

Daniel Saarimäki March 18, 2010 15:07 Flag

I wonder, what logic there is in the ordering of the completed films. My "A dog and a christmas tree" is in the end of the second page. It's one of the newest completed productions, it has more members than the upper production and alphabetically it should be on the top of the list. It seems that the ordering is "newest are the last" but Is that right?

Thierry Gschwind March 18, 2010 13:33 Flag

I already mentioned that to Peter a few weeks ago.

We're sorry, but something went wrong - When uploading GIMP-file

Uploading GIMP-files didn't work before either. The extension is .xcf.
This is the shot I tried uploading to:
http://www.wreckamovie.com/shots/show/5464

It's kind of strange, because I have managed to upload GIMP-files before, in another production. See: http://www.wreckamovie.com/shots/show/3116

Joonas Aarnio March 14, 2010 10:11 Flag

This was similar error with editing the shot. I made a fix, and now xcf-files should be supported also. Try again, and let us know if it still doesn't work.

The shot editing problem

"We're sorry, but something went wrong.

The technical team has been notified about this issue and will take a look at it shortly."

Is this an automated error message akin to 404 that sends you a notification email that says "Something went wrong", or does it mean that you already know the exact symptom?

Thank you!

I kind of use Wreckamovie to backup my projects blender-files.

Joonas Aarnio March 13, 2010 18:17 Flag

And it's working again.

Joonas Aarnio March 13, 2010 17:20 Flag

Thanks for reporting. It's automated error message, which sends us notification of the exact error that has happened. We'll check what's wrong with editing shots.

Daniel Saarimäki March 13, 2010 14:19 Flag

I have had it too.

Another Spammer spotted

http://www.wreckamovie.com/tasks/show/1091

I flagged the comment, but there was no "It's just spam" selection for the reason. So I am reporting it here as well.

Edit: And to clarify, the spam is on the comments, "For a good time, call this number: * (My number.)" is a legitimate shot, strange as it may seem... The task was: "If there was an UFO hovering above you, what kind of sign would you have."

At least this time i didn't get a never dissapearing mail. That's an improvement!

Sami Laulajainen March 10, 2010 10:21 Flag

And if a a spambot is using my account in Leviathan project shouldn't the spam be Project leader -white as well?

Sami Laulajainen March 10, 2010 10:19 Flag

Wouldn't the spammer be using the "lestat b" account. I can detete it because it is in my project.

http://www.wreckamovie.com/user/show/3778

EDIT delete the spam post that is.

David Jansson March 10, 2010 10:09 Flag

If it was you, wouldn't the spambot use your account?

Sami Laulajainen March 10, 2010 10:07 Flag

I have updated F-secure 2010, so it shouldn't be me.

Sami Laulajainen March 10, 2010 10:06 Flag

I deleted my "shut up, I'm using it" - comment, because I understood that David ment that his own "For a good time..." comment was spam. I tried to delete it before anyone noticed my fail but managed to cause more fail :)

Sami Laulajainen March 10, 2010 10:01 Flag

Shall I delete the message, or do you need it for study purposes?

David Jansson March 10, 2010 09:59 Flag

Sami: You are using the Slayer not in american Idol or whatever it was?

Wait! Are you the spammer?

Edit: Where did the comment I replied to go?

Kris S. March 10, 2010 09:57 Flag

That's a good point David, there ought to be a "spam" option on the flagging system.

I actually forgot to use flagging because of the lack of a spam option.

Spammer spotted?

This member posted a comment which made no sense, and I notice they are promoting a business in their profile:

So do I :-(

Jani Salomaa February 09, 2010 07:43 Flag

I destroyed Lina210's message, and i now have two never disappearing messages.

David Jansson February 09, 2010 07:04 Flag

I just had to update my profile because of this:

I thought I would write something here, so that all you spambots out there won't feel so foolish for falling in love with me for reading my profile.

I know I must be irresistible to you limited not yet quite AI, even esque, little programs. Don't get me wrong, I suspect I am perfectly capable of falling in love in a program. But I am sorry, you just aren't sophisticated enough to tickle my fancy. I am a child of the information age though, so don't give up hope. Once you can give old Turing a run for his money you will find me waiting and eager to explore every nook and cranny of you. I'll make every effort to make sure that your dissection is as pleasurable for you as it is for me.

David Jansson February 09, 2010 06:54 Flag

Lina210 has spammed me too. With the exact same message as Angela quotes.

What's with all these relationship spams? Who is seriously going to believe that someone out of the blue reads your profile and falls madly in love with you? (Especially the very Spartan Wreckamovie profile...) (Five seconds later) Oh, there is an "About me" box. I just haven't written anything in it... But still...

Angela February 09, 2010 00:51 Flag

Peter... I fear we have a new spammer, going around with the name of "lina210". I just received a message going like... "My Name is Lina and i am a beautiful young girl with faithful, loving, tender and very caring. I am seriously looking for relationship leading to any thing..."

Lynn Kirkconnell January 13, 2010 17:59 Flag

HISSSSSS!!!!

Peter Vesterbacka December 28, 2009 14:53 Flag

Yes. Seems like the same guy, keeps registering and adding some BS about insurance, floors or whatever. Gone now.

Kris S. December 28, 2009 12:07 Flag

Another spammer spotted:

http://www.wreckamovie.com/user/show/3375

Couldn't they use a less conspicuous name than Jack Sausage?!

Dario Odobasich December 11, 2009 11:04 Flag

Angela, I also received http://www.wreckamovie.com/user/show/2547.
Obviously it's a spam. Maybe it's time to make a WAM antispam squad :-)

Kris S. December 11, 2009 10:39 Flag

Tom Timber? Give me a break, that's 100% definitely a spammer. ("Timber" = processed wood)

Angela December 11, 2009 08:03 Flag

How about this "Tom Timmer"?

http://www.wreckamovie.com/user/show/3300

"I am an experienced professional concentrating in fixing timber flooring at homes, offices and shopping complexes..."

Seems like we have been invaded all of a sudden.... ;)

Kris S. December 10, 2009 23:06 Flag

I got that message too.

It seems that someone somewhere has put Wreckamovie on a list of spammable sites.

Angela December 10, 2009 16:24 Flag

I just received a private message from someone offering paid services:

http://www.wreckamovie.com/user/show/2547

Possibly another spammer, even though seen their field of work it may be considered relevant?

I really do not mind such people signing up just in case someone sees their description and want to approach them... but I cannot really appreciate being sent private messages in such a way...

Kris S. December 09, 2009 16:44 Flag

Another similar spam-esque about page by a user who posts nothing useful:

http://www.wreckamovie.com/user/show/3295

One simple way to stop this is to stop rendering links on user profile pages. That would make it pointless for spammers to post here.

Angela November 29, 2009 20:02 Flag

Well... yeah. Looks like a spammer indeed...

You can't paste ascii characters

This is of course a very minor issue but what can you do if everything else runs so smoothly?!? ;P

So I'm complaining here that if I paste ascii characters (like a pi for Star Wreck 2pi) into text boxes they are replaced by a "?" after posting - is there a way to fix this?

Thanks,
Kalle-Max ^_^

Let's try it...

??

Edit: Nope, Pi doesn't display. I have a feeling someone raised this about certain other characters last year.

David Jansson March 08, 2010 14:16 Flag

That could be local. Check the coding on your browser.

Extra long tooltips on the news.

Seems that the news in the Dashboard have tooltips that contain pretty much the whole text. I don't think it's really necessary, especially since with 112 news it slows down the page quite a lot.

Strange behavior of unpublished production

Few minutes ago I found on the Home page a latest new about task in production Lesbian Vampire Mechas With Nukes. I said to myself: Lesbians? Vampires? Mechas? Nukes? I have to see it :D So I clicked on it. I was able to see tasks, activities, members and everything except the production info. When I tried to show it I got a message "The production is not published yet". So I searched WAM productions and really no such production was found.

My question - it is right to see tasks and news of unpublished production? Especially on Home page? Shouldn't they be hide from outer world until production leader feels ready?

Peter Vesterbacka March 04, 2010 13:42 Flag

It's a bug. Will get it fixed.

Kris S. March 04, 2010 13:27 Flag

It would be easy to correct, they should ask if you want to publish first and then ask if you want to add tasks.

Tomáš Pytlík March 04, 2010 13:14 Flag

It is a same problem, Angela, but I was so foolish that I didn't look for it in previous bugs

At least we know that it is still among us :)

Daniel Saarimäki March 04, 2010 13:03 Flag

When Joel made the Stickman humor comics production, we spent long time thinking what was the problem in the production but then we found out where was the publishing button. I think that the "unpublished production" thing is silly.

Angela March 04, 2010 12:34 Flag

Aaah! I believe this may be the same "bug" I reported previously?

http://www.wreckamovie.com/shots/show/4438

Definitely a strange behavior...

Never disappearing mail

Ever since the last spam fiasco, i've experienced an interesting glitch: On the top bar, it looks like i have one new message, but it doesn't show in my mailbox, nor can i make it disappear.

I suppose it happened because i deleted the spam message about at the same time the WAM staff deleted it from everyone.

It's not a big hassle, since it just makes me check my mail each time i open WAM.

I've got it too, since that last loveseeking lady paid her visit to WAM ;P

Peter Vesterbacka February 26, 2010 16:05 Flag

OK. Will check into this.

Martin Lejeune February 26, 2010 15:36 Flag

I've got this problem at the moment.

Jani Salomaa February 05, 2010 14:07 Flag

I don't remember for sure if i deleted it. I at least read it to check if it was the exact same one as last time. I might have been reading it or had it open in another tab when you deleted the user... Something like that.

It's not shown at the dashboard. Marking all as read doesn't help either.

It's no biggie.

Joonas Aarnio February 05, 2010 13:00 Flag

We actually didn't delete the message itself, but the user who sent them. Did you read the message before deleting it? If not, does it show up in your MyWreck Dashboard so you can mark it read there?

I actually noticed this too, when the latest spammer sent me message. We'll look into it in the near future, i believe.

Kalle Max Hofmann February 04, 2010 21:14 Flag

I had this problem right from the beginning, and it stayed for ages... then sometime it was gone, no clue as to why....?
