The Devil Is In The Details..

Did anyone notice this in the newly surfaced full trailer?

Then, have another look at the poster (conveniently marked 4.) from
the production office video blog comments shot..

Ofcourse, having coffee at the (old) productionoffices really helped clear things up! ;)

'Kudos!

Sharp eyes, sir.
But you missed at least one more thing concerning the video.

Ninja vs Ninja Assassin

When I walked by the video store today, I noticed Ninja Assassin is out for rental now - so I definitely gotta see it during the next couple days.

Back home, I had the idea to check who had won the Ninja battle - and found out that Ninja Assassin has a 6.4 on IMDB
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1186367/

Whereas Ninja only has a 5.3
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1186367/

So it seems the american ninja didn't do his sensai proud. I have yet to see both films and make up my own mind...

Still what I actually wanted to say is, even a 6.4 isn't very good, so there is a fair chance the Norwegian Ninja will defeat these two black-clad adversaries!

:D

Both films are meh. But *Ninja Assassin* is far worse in my opinion - especially as the lead is not even a "ninja", but a Korean Tae-Kwon-Do guy.

Norway's hidden nazi gold vault

Rats, I almost forgot about this one: Somewhere in the Ninja headquarter, there must be a tightly sealed vault where all the nazi gold from WWII is safely tucked away. With an entirtely non-obvious and unsuspicious sign on the door. Nazi gullreservene - Adgang forbudt

Hide it under your pillow, sleep like a babe..

..If a gun to hide under your pillow (for selfdefence purposes) is hard to come by, why not build yourself one of these!? how awesome is THIS?! :D

That thing means business!

And the dude in the photo...jeez, testing his DIY flame thrower in bed, in broad daylight. Issues.

TAPETRVE the Void February 21, 2010 16:21 Flag

Damn right, lad. But I'd also add in some customized pistol with a carved out grip to hold it one-handed togethe with a knife, *Metal Gear Solid* style.

There HAS to be a *Metal Gear Solid* quote hidden somewhere in the movie anyway.

Hey man, good catch about the Mauser. But we won't confirm or deny the Correlian link at this point. :)

Lord Fakenham February 16, 2010 20:12 Flag

..ofcourse, now we know the commander's sidearm is a Mauser C96 parabellum ;D NICE!
(Is that a starwars reference to Han Solo's blaster?!")

Eric Vogel November 19, 2009 23:41 Flag

Holy shit, I only saw this now.
That's some great sleuthing, 'Ham!

But you'll be in for a surprise when it comes to the ninja sidearms...!

I won't say too much...

...just The Ninja Mission ;-)...

Although the film is from 1984, what's wrong with having one or two seconds of footage run on some random monitor?

And the reasons you stated are the reasons why I mentioned it ;-).

Maybe you could have shown a short piece of the trailer or something. The best would of course have been one of Treholt's men cracking a quip like "Look, they made our lives into a movie!" ...

Eric Vogel January 31, 2010 21:51 Flag

This is seriously one of my favorite ninja movies. It's got ninjas with machineguns, great action set pieces, special effects, even some gore and it's Swedish!

Gotta love the tagline in the trailer's voice-over: "the good guys STILL wear black" and the punchline "It delivers".

We do have several opportunities to show something on monitors in the background, but we would have to get the rights sorted out before using something like this. Hm... maybe it's worth a shot? Thanks for the tip!

These are indeed powerful icons.
Wouldn't take the religious interpretation THAT far though :)
