DescriptionWe are about to add a media box feature to Wreck A Movie, and plan to make it an easy stash for different media on different areas - each production has one, each users can have one, each task can have one, and even each shot can have one. The question is - How to do it so that it's not annoying and actually works. Ideas on that are appreciated! Thanks!
Shotsstorage for media?I'd suggest looking at Amazon S3 for media storage if you haven't already. Might depend on what forms of media you plan to allow. If there will be video clips, I highly recommend it - have used it to store countless video clips for my own sites. CommentsDefinitely being seriously considered. We are working on a deal with a local provider for the time being. But Amazon looks really promising. First ideaI'm thinking on a media box that would open in a lightbox-style on top of everything. Reason for that is that trying to fit a media box anywhere inside the current structure would be a bit tricky. See the pictures to see what I mean. The symbol (M) is just a quick mockup. CommentsI actually like this idea a lot better. Its cleaner and keeps things from getting cluttered. :) Hope you post a new version here. Give it another shot CommentsThe integrated media boxes look fine to me. The blue activation buttons certainly catch the eye and give the right feel of intuitive function. The earlier non-integrated lightbox concept was more aesthetically pleasing, though. I guess it just didn't quite work out in implementation? |
