EXT. LUFTWAFFE BASE - SALZBURG AUSTRIA - NIGHT

The propellers of a “Heinkel He 177” spurt into rotation. Blue smoke sputters out of the engines.

Eight SS Storm Troopers and the Three Surgeons, now in civilian clothes, climb the metal steps into the plane.

The Tall Man, in his forties, fingers his pencil moustache as he waits pensively at the bottom of the steps. Under his arm he clutches a weathered briefcase, stuffed to almost busting.

An SS OFFICER approaches him, clicks his heels and salutes. The Tall Man does not return the salute.

SS OFFICER
Herr Doctor, everyone is on board.

TALL MAN
Good. And the cargo?

SS OFFICER
Yes, Herr Doctor.

DOCTOR MENGELE, (THE TALL MAN) watches the Officer climb the steps, then hastily follows him. At the top of the steps he is greeted by the CO-PILOT.

CO-PILOT
It is an honor, Doctor Mengele.

He pushes the Co-Pilot aggressively out of the way.

Technicians roll the steps away. The door of the plane closes as the props speed up.

The plane slowly rolls forward.
