Description

Hey there you awesome wreckers,

following the success with Snowblind, we'd like to ask your help in collecting photos to create the locations of Vampyre Princess!

Once again, we're going for a post-apocalyptic, wrecked look - this time around, a gothic touch is also very welcome. Of course we also take nongothic wrecked locations and completely intact gothic ones - and everthing in between ;D

Other areas we need are rocky mountain sites as well as all kinds of catacombs and sewers.

So if you are a friend of urban exploration, please take the Princess on your next field trip! What we need are photographs of 6 megapixels or more, without any post-processing. And to really make this stuff work in the film which will use more 3D than before, we need real good coverage - that means, at least 4 photos from each "room" covering the basic directions.

Please contact us if you want further instructions. We can also provide you with FTP access to upload your images, of course it would be nice to post some demo pics here for all to see :D

As with Snowblind, everyone who's photos appear in the film will be credited for that - and in the case we make any money with the film, you'll also get a financial reward =)

Thank you and good hunting,
Kalle-Max ^_^

Powerplant Vockerode

Just came across this article about an old power plant / foundry in the small German town of Vockerode. The pictures look amazing, and there are even daily guided tours. Just have to find out if you're allowed to take photos during the tour... thousands of photos that is, hehhe ^_^

Hehe no, no vampire style mine shafts, but i tell you.. there is no lack of Bloodsuckers there... (Mosquitos)

Kalle Max Hofmann May 30, 2011 14:58 Flag

Cool, interesting endeavour :D Albeit without Vampyre-style mining shafts ^_^

Samuli Jomppanen May 30, 2011 14:41 Flag

I'll send you a PM to a gallery full of them. (On FP.. and not really a PM, but there you have it..)

Kalle Max Hofmann May 30, 2011 14:09 Flag

Absolutely; if it's possible to take photos there and use them, I'll bring you some :D

I mean the tech is very old-skool but maybe M3 will have some kind of retro theme ^_^

Which reminds me, think you can bring back some photos from your "mining operation"? (Even though I must admit I don't really know what you're up to there?)

Oh.. Materia 3 the film sets.. you found em. Yeah as if.. :P Very cool looking place.

Wow, great place! Also looks a bit like the castle from "Beowolf" which I mentioned earlier today, albeit much cooler! The Giger style is great, only the rough stone walls seem a bit misplaced... Well I'll definitely go there if I'm ever in the area :D

Caves will do too, right?

I'll check out some caves this weekend, maybe even the 'Seegrotte' http://www.seegrotte.at/
We also have some nice churches in the area. Do you want interior shots from those?
And I've always wanted to visit the bunkers rumored to be in these hills...

EDIT: For starters I have some pics of a forrest, quarry, graveyard, the Seegrotte. (around 10 megapixels)

I have many more (283 pics, or 1Gb), so please tell me where I can send them!

So far, Carl has uploaded 2,42 GB of highly useful cave material... KARMA to the man =D

And of course, let these efforts inspire you to contribute your own excellent backdrops - to make Vampyre Princess really stand out 8D

Kalle Max Hofmann July 25, 2010 17:00 Flag

Great, I think these caves will make excellent backdrops! About the data transfer; why don't you send me an email so we can sort this out. It's kalle(å)mangofilm.de

I will visit another cave on tuesday, after work. No telling how many pictures I'll make. My memory card is 4Gb, and I can fill it in just a few hours, given the right setting.

If it's too difficult to get decent webspace, maybe it would be prudent to just send you a USB-stick.

Kalle Max Hofmann July 25, 2010 14:39 Flag

Wow, especially those cave shots look awesome! Also, they are very inspirational for the creation of the story... looking at them, the movie starts playing in my head right away :D

So all I need to do now is find some webspace where we you can upload that gig... currently, our server only has 400MB free I think... I'll let you know as soon as I've found a solution ^_^

Thanks a lot!

Carl L. July 25, 2010 14:32 Flag

I've got a gorilla-grip tripod, and will bring a lightsource for the rest of the caves (that don't have the fortune to have been converted to a Schaubergwerk).

Kalle Max Hofmann July 24, 2010 15:16 Flag

Sure, sounds great! Shooting in low-light environments can be tricky though because you need long exposure time - which is not possible without a tripod. Most images taken with flash look weird, but maybe we can create a new look out of that ;P

Anyways, shoot as much as you can - caves, churches and bunkers all sound very usable ;D

We're looking forward to the results!

catacombs

I took some reference photos in the local catacombs for a project, if they are of any use then feel free to use them.

Yeah, those are absolutely in the style we're looking for. Is it possible to get them from flickr in full resolution?
