Still needed? Just say so!

I'll take this on if still needed. I have a partial of one of these already in my archives.

Just tell me, and I'll finish it up!

That's too bad, but understandable. I agree it's been pretty dead here and we (the core team at the office) haven't had much time to contribute to the community during last few weeks either with the deadline of an internal test version approaching rapidly.

Thanks for the effort nonetheless & best of luck with your future productions!

Lack of activity in this production set... I am forfeiting my efforts here.

Be well, I am on to other projects.

Might have been a networking bug of some sort then, I never got a notification about it? No worries though, we've still got lots to do before we really start to need it so you can re-post it when you get back. Have a good vacation!

On vacation peeking in from my mini-PC.... I know I posted a complete halftrack model here awhile back. Did someone delete it???

Oh and the color scheme will probably be worn white or light gray.

1: It doesn't need a gun, this one's only for transport and they don't really expect to run into enemies.

2: You don't have to worry about the textures, we can have somebody texture it when the model's ready. Also yeah, we've got a logo of the base that we'll stick on the markings. :)

Question come to mind...

1: Mounting a gun? If this unit is strictly for scenery, a gun would be a distraction as it would tempt the player to think he has a new weapon source. Do you want to accommodate for a mounted weapon? If strictly for scenery, I would suggest a non-armed unit., However, if weapon-bearing, I would need the particular type of weapon. Per this link: http://s33.photobucket.com/albums/d69/aric_001/aewakened/Iron%20Sky%20-Operation%20Highjump/ ... You can see that armament varied for this series of half-track. It could be anything from a machine gun to a fairly large-shelled barrel.

2a: Texturing/Materials (General): Do you have someone able and willing to texture this monster? My normal software is not quite Blender-like, and I am not sure how the texture settings would fare in a file conversion. Should I get a set of textures in order, what would be the preferred color scheme? White? Gray? Some sort of white-twotone gray camo?

2b: Texturing (Markings): Are there specific saucer base-specific emblems, numbers or markings you would like incorporated?

When I began my own project in 2004, I had created a whole set of uniforms, ensignia, emblems, etc. that were essentially "German Luftwaffe Saucer Corps," with a model of saucer that was "Earthbound" for combat purposes, as well as larger, interplanetary design.

I suspect that Iron Sky must have something already designed to that effect, right? Therefore it would be logical to incorporate that material into the vehicle markings.

Great, looks like it's coming along nicely. Keep me updated, I'm very much looking forward to seeing the final model. :)

Back on the program... Doing a rebuild from scratch... but here we go, a bit of update so you know I'm actually attempting to make this thing:

Model with reference art panels (I like to be accurate sometime ;-) )

That's excellent news!

Got the bits to get the PC back in order. Should be up and running by the end of Sunday... Then can see about getting this half-track back in gear.

Aric: OK, that's still within the schedule so I won't free it up yet then. :)

Let me know if more problems/delays come up, otherwise just looking forward to seeing the model!

Matti, sorry, I was tackling this project again to finsih it up, but my main work PC (a laptop) monitor took a serious hit, and I'm temporarily out of commission for about 2 weeks. If you wish to free it up, you may.

Otherwise, I will likely be able to have a model in order around the end of July.

Matti Delahay July 11, 2011 11:13 Flag

Do you still have time/interest in working on this or should I unreserve it? This would be a very useful model.

Matti Delahay June 08, 2011 08:47 Flag

Very good to hear! Those references look just right, looking forward to seeing your version. You can go slightly more high poly with this model than the ones shown at our example graphics.

Also, we thought we wouldn't have any playable outside areas, but now it looks like we might have some so this is even more essential. :)

Alright. I have the beginnings of a Hanomag halftrack Sdkfz 250 that I am revising and working to bring into shape for you.

As seen in the above images, this vehicle was manifested in a number of variations, and the "base" 250 that I have been working on will be adapted in some way, modified to the Antarctic base needs.

Matti Delahay May 12, 2011 06:13 Flag

It should be pretty low-poly, you can begin by checking out our 3D-policies here, there are also some examples of our existing models:

http://www.wreckamovie.com/tasks/show/1166

Will get on it. It would be helpful to know just how detailed you want such a thing.

Matti Delahay May 11, 2011 08:45 Flag

Yes, this is still a very valid task, we could still definitely use the model!
