Description

Seems that there is a need for this kind of forum for films under which general questions and comments can be posted. We actually have a similar one in our discussion board but it is in Finnish.

So everyone's free to comment on and ask about our movie here. The stage is yours!

Subtitles in different languages...

I wonder whether the DVD will include subtitles in different languages than Finnish and English?

And eventually... if someone as crazy as me wanted to make their own version (e.g. in Italian) would there be a possibility to get a source file?

The creation of multilingual subtitles could be even be posted as a task on these pages!

Thanks Angela, we've finally opened the subtitle translating task. Go check it out!

The task for Snowblind subtitles was a success:

When will we see one for your movie? I am eager to translate it, so that I can eventually show it to my family and friends who do not know any English! 8)

Certainly sounds like a good idea to me! ^^

Tianyi Pan September 14, 2010 05:43 Flag

No, there's usually no such subtitles in Finland. But hey, great idea for a Wreckamovie task, don't you think? :)

Angela R. September 13, 2010 22:48 Flag

Don't you even have a Finnish version of the subtitles for the hearing impaired audience? 8O

Tianyi Pan September 13, 2010 20:05 Flag

Well, the Finnish version actually only consists of about 10 lines of dialogue, which in the film are in some other foreign language.

We don't have a sort-of "original" Finnish dialogue list from which all other languages are translated, instead the English one has this function.

If possible, I'd still *also* try and ask/beg for a Finnish version. Admittedly, I was half thinking to try and produce some kind of full analysis of the text (next to the Italian translation) for my Finnish language studies... ^^

But I will of course completely understand if the production leaders prefer to avoid this in case of, e.g. copyright issues.

Tianyi Pan September 13, 2010 10:53 Flag

Great idea and we'll definitely distribute at least the English dialogue list in due time!

According to the sales site ( http://mistyfriday.mycashflow.fi/product/1/mita-meista-tuli-dvd-rajoitettu-1-painos ) the first version of the DVD will have Finnish, Swedish, English, French and Chinese subtitles.

But yeah, why not let fans make their own subs for future versions? If the production leaders are worried about quality control they could set up another task to check new sets of subtitles, sort of peer review.

I know this project is done but I was just reviewing your martial, and trailer, I'll be looking for this film to watch. I believe you did an excellent job at putting this together, the story is compelling, and the acting looks real. Best wishes to cast and crew. Well done, Bravo.

Premiere and other stuff

Hi, this is always the most asked question when talking about movie productions: When is it coming out?-) Have you set a premiere date?

Then some other questions:

Is it going to be freely available for viewing?
In which city is the premiere going to be?
How are you going to distribute the movie?
What license will you select for the movie?

Now at least we know that the World Premiere will be held in Shanghai :)

I think you should distribute the movie for free to start with, that will get you to the theaters as well later.

Miika Ullakko November 05, 2008 18:37 Flag

Wasn't the most asked question something like "Will there be any boobs to see?"

No, we havent set the premiere date yet. It'll probably be in next autumn.

We won't make it free, at least in the beginning. But the future shows!

Premiere will be in Helsinki, I think.

We will try get the movie to real theaters...That would be cool, difficult but not impossible. And the license thing is under construction.

But this is all future! Now we focus on editing :)
