Will the encounter with Mercury come after that with Venus on the way inward towards the Sun, or before an encounter with Venus to come only on the way outward from the Sun? The dwellers on Mercury are silicon life, comfortable at temperatures of molten rock instead of liquid water. What will be the problems caused for both worlds by the encounter, and how can they be overcome? Obviously, the Earth will need timely protection from the heat so close to the Sun!

1 Thumb-up
By the time of the calamity http://www.wreckamovie.com/shots/show/5223 primitive silicon life has newly been discovered deep within the magma of the Earth. Lava from an eruption is swept into space by the gravitational beams causing perturbation to the orbital trajectory of the Earth and Moon about the Sun, and effectively seeding silicon life onto the surface of Mercury. Because of the time dilation on Earth and the Moon, intelligent silicon life has adapted to Mercury by the time of Earth encounter.
