Machiavelli or Sun Tzu?

Hi!

Could you describe your core idea in further detail? You keep saying you want to adapt Machiavelli's The Art of War, but that makes little sense. Machiavelli wrote The Prince, which is a book about politics, and governing a city state (democracy, taxes etc). The Art of War was written by Sun Tzu, and that one's about military tactics and strategy (siege engines, morale etc).

Either one would make an interesting basis for a tv series, perhaps feturing a longer story divided into thematically complete chapters. Occasional quotations from the original text. It could make for heavy, masculine, HBO style drama.

Mike, Macchiavelli also wrote books other than 'Il Principe'. One of of the lesser known of them is Art of War (Dell'arte della guerra).

Sun Tzu's has the 'historical copyright' to the name, though.

It main focus would be Machiavelli (Hence the name) however, incorporating some of Sun Tzu's work would not be beyond the scope of this project.
