Unterseeboot-Kriegsspiel

OMG... I was browsing around for Ludo reference images to tweak when I found this game, created in 1916, which works like snakes and ladders but where the player uses a die-cast German U-boat as a game piece, rolling a dice and moving it around the board's map landing on spaces that help or hinder their aim to conquer the British Isles.

Wow, this is some serious awesome. :D

Agree fully with Kris, it'd be thematically excellent for the game.

Yeah, that was the title of the original article I copied the shot from, although I later decided it was a bit too long and needed editing. ^^'

Ha ha ha, didn't this shot have a different name earlier? Something like "Destroy Britain From The Sea!"

Well I suppose you've had to endure enough jokes about Italy's war record... ;)

Serious feedback though, this game is interesting because it is an example of anti-Allied propaganda which predates the Nazis. It shows how long term the enmity between the UK and Germany was, there were two generations of Germans raised believing Britain was a threat.

And it does look very war-like, so it is suited to this task.
