The Sauna -team is looking for your ideas and comments. Join and show your support for Sauna. Lullaby at wartimeTo me, it feels like a lullaby at wartime. Desolate. Brutal. Personal. An attempt to fool your kin that everything is just fine, though you know the harshness of the world will catch up with you. Washing away our sins is something we all may wish for deep inside. But the drawback in this is, that most of us choose to take the easy way, and to hide and run away our sins. If you wanted a broader audience, maybe you should make the protagonist appear more, you know, like a hero. A conflicted hero is a familiar theme. A conflicted soul is a character for the art scene.. It is still a fantastic premise for a movie. And as it is in Finnish, you don't have to mold it into the American standard. If you wanted to do that, you should bring up the religious Christian overtones. Christians versus pagans, it always works - even if it means selling your soul to the market forces.. |

So true, so true. I think that you hit the bullseye with
"An attempt to fool your kin that everything is just fine, though you know the harshness of the world will catch up with you."
This is such an universal theme regardless of the time era, and also a very Finnish way of thinking. Glad if we've been able to communicate this out so far.
