Slow-paced vs full-on?

After reading the comments here, I wonder what you guys generally would think more fitting - a slow, rather quiet, trailer fading in some of the locations and scenes from Snowblind... setting up more like an atmosphere, like it is done in the 3D teaser?

Or would you rather have lots of action scenes and one-liners accompanied by some guitar riffs like in the second half of the "mashup"-trailer?

A bit hard to tell for me because Snowblind obviously is both, but presentig it in a totally divided way like in the mashup-trailer doesn't feel right either...

Next question; what do you think about a presenter's voice? Like in the epic original grindhouse machete trailer? At least that would make it clear it's grindhouse, not sure what the guy would be supposed to say though ;P

BTW ever seen this trailer here? It explains the grindhouse concept for the theatrical release of RR&QT's double feature... feels kind of dumb but on the other hand, that just adds to the "realism" ;D

The main problem is the question "Slow-paced vs full-on?" Snowblind has both sides. If the trailer only concentrates to one side, it will give people false image of the film. that's why you'll need both sides in the trailer.

I saw the mash up trailer and then I saw the film. It was clockwork. I didn't realize it wasn't the final trailer. I still don't understand why it couldn't be the final trailer. So there are images that are not in the film. That is the essence of grindhouse and that is exactly what I like about the mash up trailer.

If you want to add something to the trailer, add the porch scene. The honour and respect is missing from the trailer.

How about a juxtaposition?

Sweltering mashup set against
a sentimental serenade?

You can keep the title cards suggestive :

1. Greenscreen And Grindhouse...
'A Gun-Ho World'

2. A Postap...Spaghetti Western
'A Gun-Toting Adventure'

3. Sex and Violins
'Featuring Suggestive Material'

4. A Love Triangle With A Body Count
'Intriguing Material'

5. OK Kids Big Finish
'And High Caliber Violence'

Hehhe, next time we better hire Clint Eastwood ;P

Well once again, this is a bit hard to adapt cause we don't have these hard-as-nails lines like "...four coffins... my mistake!"

Still, a 70s voiceover is cool... only wonder who's gonna perform it... and who will write it >_<

The "Chapter" trailer I proposed was an accelerating in my mind. That would best describe the alternating rhythm of Snowblind.

There are great slow scenes in Snowblind that I wouldn't leave out from the trailer
- "He'll go snowblind"
- the bath scenes
- this is my wife
- the motivation of the governor
- the mutual respect of the gunslingers

- Barbara, thou convincing, is in a supporting role.

On the other hand the fast gunfighting is what Snowblind is all about. you might get inspiration from this trailer : snowblind is the first movie of it's kind. It won't be the last :)
