Discussion boardCould WAM have a one general discussion board, where there could be open discussion about social movie making, projects etc ? Now there is no free communication among the collaborators. The only form of socializing is done in the tasks which of course is the whole point of WAM, but it also restricts the free roaming minds. Now the people go somewhere else to speak their minds and discuss about their interests. It would be beneficial for WAM to provide that service here too. |

Jani, it might actually help people to focus on the films if they also had a forum where they could discuss things other than shots.
For example I've been trying to write some stuff and wanted to ask help from other writers, but they're not specific tasks so they can't really be posted on WAM in its current form.
It would be great if there was some kind of workshop forum on here where people can exchange ideas that aren't related to a specific production.
It IS kinda weird there is no discussion forum on WAM...
I mean, I know the whole of WAM is one type of a discussion forum. But not quite: A lot of personal fan stuff gets left out since the site emphazises only serious contributions to films.
On WAM, people just don't post the kind of whacky stuff they do on, for example http://forum.starwreck.com/ ...
I do realize there is a risk of a loss of focus. Some ideas or 'shots' might be featured only in discussion forums and the conversation may spread too wide (including WAM, it's forums and the film's own forums). It might worth a try, though..
Is there any more word about this?
Perhaps part of the Energia forums could be devoted to Wreck A Movie, and linked to from this site?
'The' WAM bar?
Great idea. I agree totally.
There are SO many things that up-and-coming film makers might like to discuss which aren't necessarily tied to a particular task (recommended hardware, directing techniques etc) that it would make a lot of sense to set up a forum on the site.
I definitely agree. Also, if people have ideas for the moviemakers that don't fall into any of the tasks, they either don't post them or post them in tasks that don't fit them. A discussion board will help to get to know other WAMers and *could* lead to new projects springing up.
