Time travelling.

A knight of the old republic is just about to concur an arch advisory (with light sabers) when they meet a wormhole and get sucked trough space and time say into the 1500's. They get separated and start to gather a mob of their own from the rival villages.

The hero must choose whether to concur the enemy and save the people in this time and space, or go home into the right time-space but leave the people at the (lack of) mercy of the advisory.

The hero is (pam pam pam pam ..) a girl and the rival village chief (a handsome guy) falls in love with her. He has already pledged alliance to the evil and gets torn by duty and love.

Ending 1 - the chief destroys the evil destroying himself. The hero goes home.

Ending 2 - the evil escapes into the wormhole (-> collapses), hero and chief can't follow -> They get married and have babies.

Ending 3 - the hero and evil fight, both die. with the last gasps of her breaths the hero sees how the chief has betrayed her all along only to possess the lightsaber / ring / artifact that the evil carries. Chief takes the artifact, turns into evil and jumps into the wormhole.

I was thinking about the physical elements of the weapon. The light sabre is a guideline to what we might see and hear. I don't want any blasters or the super guns of doom - quake - genre.

The thing is that the light sabre type effect of the plasma dagger, lightning katana, laser whip or what ever might be visual live. The characters fence on the castle wall behind a screen, the sabre effect could be added to the image projected to the screen live. Talk sow hosts have interviewed computer created characters live, so I'd think this might be easier to make. All we need is a 3d tracing studio behind the screen and some 3d computer power, right?

Why not throw in the computer created character. A dragon maybe. goes well in all the categories. the same screen could be used for that too. and the wormhole effect.

And if the screen is made out of water, we'll get some more cool effects

About lightsabres, i am pretty sure that Lucasfilms might have something to say about them if they are used. Lucasfilms allows the use for "fan" stuff, but this project seems pretty massive for... that.

Hey, I love this sci fi approach! It would also fit into Savonlinna's castle because of your story's 'medieval' environment and might get more audience, who are new to opera. :)
