Hitler who?

How about a guy dressed as Napoleon Bonaparte who thinks he's Hitler.

Well, I laughed a little when I read this, but he definitely belongs in the "stuff that's funny and could be read about somewhere" category, more than the "actual NPC" category. Just because it's so utterly wacko.

Lee Crystal March 14, 2010 22:51 Flag

And if you do shot him, you would just have to do more and it then could make the game harder.

Seppo Hiltunen March 14, 2010 18:12 Flag

this is definitely the guy that carries a secret that can change the way the game goes on, so don't shoot this character. Nice one Lee!

Matti: No offence taken.

Since the folks making Iron Sky are humorious and a little wacky I thought a humors random element in the game might be interesting.

He could appear randomly in the game to ad the hero.
In the end we could discover he is a spy?
Lots of ideas could be generated from this. You could look at it as the comic releif to the serious side of the game.

Its only a wacky idea.

This is really nice idea. The humous twist in it is like in ancient Sierra games (Space quest, Leisure suit Larry, Police quest etc) I like it. Thumb up.

@Matti @Lee
Maybe we should open an extra shot/thread, "stupid fun ideas", where we take the half serious questions, associate freely and then try to find "reasonable" explanations for it? What do you think?

Matti Delahay March 14, 2010 09:19 Flag

Lee: Don't get my previous comment wrong, I can certainly appreciate the randomity, this shot more or less made my day. :)

Nonetheless, I fear it may be too random for the mostly serious tone of the game - I'd like to mostly have jokes that have some kind of explanation in the gameworld. We'd be hard put to explain why the Nazis wouldn't have arrested or executed this guy already for defaming their hero (not Napoleon, the other one).

We could sneak in a reference to this guy somehow, though - maybe as an offhand reference by someone to a person that went mad in the base earlier. :P

Anyway, the shot was valid and welcome, not every idea has to be dead serious. :)

Lee Crystal March 13, 2010 23:10 Flag

Well some of you got the idea. :)

Hero enters a room, he sees someone hiding behind a box...

Hero: Gotcha, asshole!
WTF? Napoleon, you here?
Guy: No, no! Don't shoot! It's me! Hitler!
Hero: Hitler? But aren't you kind of..dead?
Guy: Do I look like dead?
Hero: Well, no. Wait. You are dressed as Napoleon!
Guy: Yeah...
Hero: Why?
Guy: Thats a long story.
Hero: How the hell did you get here?
Guy: Why? Where am I? And where are the other guests?
Hero: We are in a "secret" Nazi-Base in the Antarctica. What other guests?
Guy: Antarctica? Damnit. That nasty Physisist was right!
Hero: Physisist? Guests? What the hell? Wait! Where are you going?
Guy: I have to stop them! Now! (vanishes through a security door and locks it.)
Hero: You are going nowh...damnit!

Hero: (to himself) I have to find that guy, whether he is Hitler or not, he might have the anwers for these strange things, happening here...

...Game continues as nothing happend....leaving Player puzzled behind...he will not stop the game until all myteries are revealed.
If not now, maybe in the other 10 sequels.
Thanks, LOST!

Maybe he was part of the band, but stress made him go insane.
They might have done a couple of plays, that's where he got the costume.

But this is so completely random, it does not really need an explanation!

Suggested carried items:

¤ signed copy of 'Mein Kampf'
¤ rubber duckie
¤ script of last weeks play
¤ brittle wooden sabre (shatters when used)

On that note: It could be a side-quest to find this guy for the band.
Or to recover the stolen 'Mein Kampf' for some Officer.
("Adolf" insists that it belongs to him, but then the PC points out the unlikelihood of carrying around a signed copy, or whatever)
Maybe he gives it up if the PC saves his duckie from the evil scientists (who are using it as a way to buffer the vibrations of some heavy machinery)

XD Genious!

Lee Crystal March 13, 2010 20:34 Flag

I'm sorry, but I thought there might be some humor in the game.

Spencer Lunsford March 13, 2010 02:26 Flag

I don't like it. Why would a guy dressed as Napoleon come in a "secret" nazi base thinking he is Hitler.

Lee, can you come up with some serious ideas?

Matti Delahay March 12, 2010 08:38 Flag

Why would he be in the base? Where did he get the uniform? This is one weird idea. :D
