Font thoughts...Hi there, Just watched the new video and love it! My only comment is about the fonts - I think it is good that it is white now, that is much clearer, but yet I cannot help wondering whether it may be be useful to slightly increase its size and perhaps use a clearer/modern-looking font? I mean something of the Arial/Verdana family rather than Times New Roman, which IMHO looks very good on printed material but turns out to be a bit "tricky" on screen. Also love the way you integrated some "fun moment" from the making of Star Wreck (0:43) - by the way, do I understand correctly that the titles on this snippets were already embedded in the image and could not be altered? Is this why you picked another font your wreckamovie description, to keep this one "different"? |

I've updated the video with a new font, added another film's clip, and added a title at the beginning. All feedback welcome.
Titles in the clouds are a good idea, will try to do that.
"This version is so far superior to the last one, i'm still recovering from it's impact."
That means a lot from you Jani, I know you don't say this stuff if you don't mean it. :)
I'm still fairly new to using proper video editing software, but trying to practise all the time. The best kind of practice for me is to just do lots and lots of vids, so I'm happy to do more versions if required.
I don't mind the overlapping fonts, but Times New Roman must go. My rule is always to stay away from the standard fonts: 1001freefonts.com could help you.
This version is so far superior to the last one, i'm still recovering from it's impact.
And put the "This is WAM" title right at the beginning, as the camera zooms through the clouds.
I could try to obscure the subtitles, or trim the videos somehow. I'm still learning my way around the editing software, I'm sure something like that is possible.
Hmmm... as I feared.
So there are the following options:
1) Keep the current SW/2Pi shots and differentiate the font for the rest of the video through the usage of a different font family (current situation). Drawback: it is possibly not the easiest thing to read, as it does not look very "natural" on screen (at least IMHO).
2) Keep the current SW/2Pi shots and differentiate the font for the rest of the video through the usage of a different color (previous situation). Drawback: it is possibly not the easiest thing to read, as it does not look very "professional"
3) Change the SW/2Pi shots to some without text, and use the ideal clean/modern font for your text.
4) Ask the respective crews for SW/2Pi shots without burned-in text. Use the ideal clean/modern font for your text and differentiate this with another font.
5) Ask the respective crews for SW/2Pi shots without burned-in text. Use the ideal clean/modern font for your text and differentiate this with another color.
Anything I am missing? ^_^
I ought to say I'd almost advise you to go for option 3, as both 1/2 and 4/5 seem to suffer similar drawbacks which I am not sure can be resolved at all...
I wasn't 100% happy with the font either, I'll try something different. And will make it a bit bigger too.
All of the making-of clips of SW and 2Pi had subs burned into them, so I couldn't remove them. That did indeed complicate things as people might get a bit confused.
