Weird personal message = a flaw in spam protection.I just got this really weird WAM mail, and think you should look into your spam protection. Not that i mind a girl sending me a date message, but "Hell Dear"!!! That's just nasty. I like how your anti-spam software has held up, by the way!! This is about the second spam thingamadoo i've come across in a year, which is pretty impressive. I copied the message below just that you can take a look at it if anyone else has got it, too. "hello dear Hell Dear I am Vivian Dabah, 22yrs old girl from Sudan . I read your profile, and find it truly interesting. That is why I am contacting you so that we can get to know each other better for personal relationship, beside I have a special issue to discuss with you on a very serious note. I can be reached through this Email:( vivian1985dh@yahoo.com). Hope to hear from you soon. I will send my pictures to you and also tell you more about my self when you reply me. All I need is your understanding and interest for more information about me. Take care as I wait for your response through my private email address above. Yours, Vivian" |

I got the same message on the 5th. Looks like it was erased from my account, which I'll take as a good sign.

Right on, David. It's a spambot, for sure.
And i agree, being spam-free is super important on a site like this where you enter your real identity (which is great btw, keeps the trolls away).
If you WAM crew do collaboration with F-Secure on Griffin, maybe you can ask them how to totally secure this site.
I have gotten this very message from various emailaddresses and signed by various different name. And now here on Wreckamovie, from the same account that you got it.
Boot it. I doubt we are dealing with a live person here, just a spambot created account.
But!
You should probably look over your antispambot measures in the registering process before you boot it. And prioritize this, or you might find yourselves overrun by spammers...
