And what better than a very short who's-who of the russian master tenors and folk singers! Not so much vocal craftsmanship in this first one, but still a great piece of memorable eyecandy - An amazingly obscure filmtrailer from 1971.
Ivan Rebroff, live in concert Sydney 1982.
This next one is totally meaningless, but it makes me laugh ("Schön! Mit bananen!?") - Rebroff on a german tv-program outtake, 1975.
It kind of illustrates the german fascination for everything russian as being exotic. (Totally diffrent topic, maybe even grounds for separate thread or even doctorate thesis). The Tschaika Cossacks, ..with their amazing profundo basso Janos Kuruz.
..The Tschaika Cossacks' rendition of 'the 12 robbers'

Monster post! Thanks for it all. Rebroff was a staple at after-parties in my younger days (ah, memories). "Im Tiefen Keller" was a particular favorite, and total show-off of his vocal range:

The Tschaika Cossacks were new to me. If that Kuruz guy and Rebroff met for a bass-off it would shake continents.
A little irrelevant maybe, but for anyone interested in checking out Russian music, Vladimir Vysotsky is a must. The Bob Dylan of the Soviet Union:
