Well, there are some film schools in Jakarta and Yogya who did some indie movies. I'll check on them tomorrow. I'll try to find some wrecker.
So how about staying a week or two here then go to New Zealand? :D

Hi Peter
A team set up here in New Zealand would be fairly easy. I can easily involve both volunteers wishing to develop their talents and professionals who might volunteer their time, plus an editor who is very negotiable for his rates. Equipment hireage is very accessible, and some borrowing/swapping takes place to cut costs.
Initial contact is Film Wellington for permits. They can help negotiate with different councils throughout the region for filming (NB: the councils tend to be very open to filmmaking in their locales).
I suggest a simple solution for accommodation for any crew, whether local or visiting from overseas: there are "Marae"(pronounced "maar-eye"), or Maori Meeting Centres, operating in many districts and some allow accommodation in return for "Koha" ("koh-hah"), which is a gift in cash or in kind (which is then used for their community). It is an excellent system that allows large groups to camp together, usually sleeping in the traditional meeting house itself (which would be an amazing experience for any visitor). I can look into which of these Marae might be available at the time in question.
Film locations here in Wellington are varied and accessible. Many of Peter Jackson's films were shot in the district and broader region. The native village in King Kong was on the side of a hill very close to his studios, while Helm's Deep was a quarry north of the city. The Paths of the Dead in The Return of the King and a scene from one of his earlier films, "Braindead", were all shot in a place called The Pinnacles, about two or three hours drive away from the city.
Many films have been shot in New Zealand very economically (Bridge to Terabithia, The Piano, Willow, to name a few). Have a look at some of these to get an idea of some of the potential locations.
And, yes, Weta Digital and Weta Workshop operate as part of Peter Jackson's organisation in Wellington City. I suggest discussing post-production sound with Park Road Post, also part of Peter Jackson's organisation.

Thanks David, will explore! Would also be good to get more wreckers from Indonesia here, any film schools we could talk to?

@ Peter
I think if its a foreign production, you will need a kind of shooting permit. However permits are often hard to get. Unless you make it seems like a travel or holiday documentation :p

Who knows you can start from Jakarta, Yogya, Surabaya, then Bali
That means the equipments should be portable and not bulky.
Or for a more legal-formal step, if you can make contact with your embassy here it should've been more realistic. So you make contact with Finland embassy here, and if they agree they can help to obtain the permit by contacting local official. But nobody done that and may be costly too :p

I'm a budget conscious person so maybe my suggestions will always be cost effective in trade for less comfortness :p

I'll check on the permit stuff and I'll try to make contact
with some film faculty if they can help with team assembly. I'll also try to seek info on film equipments rental (such as lights and so on).

I suggest the team to stay in Jl. Jaksa (Attorney Road) in Jakarta. Its a place for cheap roomrent / backpackers hotels but specially for foreign tourist. Comfortability may be an issue but it's more realistic for the story plot.
I got a 768k internet connection in Jakarta if the team want to upload things.

Better to send a rough details about team composition and script so I can suggest places.

@David How could we get a team organized in Indonesia if we decide to do an episode there?

@Matt Ditto for New Zealand?

I was trying to think of places with media production infrastuctures. Hopefully groups in the these areas can be approached easily enough.

If some of the contries are hard to place teams with pick a new one. I like Richard Caldwell's suggestion of the Caribbean, but don't know the film base there.

I agree with the New Zealand idea: NZ is my country, we are one of the most infomated countries in the world in terms of software usage and yes, Weta Digital is here in my home town.

Great list! Also very much all over the map, so we really need to get local teams and directors onboard, no way we can fly to all these ourselves.
