Purpose: This animation will explain the work of World Film Collective and will be complimented with footage from workshops and clips from films made by students.
World Film Collective in brief: World Film Collective (WFC) has devised a unique mobile phone based filmmaking workshop that is delivered using mobile phones to young people around the world who have been afforded few opportunities. WFC’s workshops are currently running in the UK, South Africa, Brazil, Palestine, and Russia. Our workshop programme consists of 4 levels of workshops. We deliver the whole programme over three years. The World Film Collective programme has four levels, each one comprising of 50 hours, focusing on different modules:
Level 1 – Fictional Shorts
Level 2 – Documentaries & News Features
Level 3 – Adverts & Music Videos
Level 4 – Setting up a Production company
By the end of Level 1 students are able to produce, direct, storyboard, shoot and edit their own film. By the conclusion of Level 4, students are setting up their own production company, writing proposals and budgets, learning how to solicit networks for commissions, and creating a commercially viable web presence for their films. The students are aged between 10 and 25 years, each workshop lasts for 50 hours and has 12 participants.
Promo Target Audience: Members of the public who are interested in our work and who may support or assist the organisation in the future.
The video above is a promo made for us last year. We are looking for something a bit more sophisticated and upbeat.
