WHAT BECAME OF US > Read and retweet the producer's post-mortem > Re-tweeted
by: (null)

I did actually retweet this anyway on the Unelma account ( http://twitter.com/unelmaprod ), but thought I'd give a shot to get this task back on the front page. Seriously, if you have a Twitter account do re-tweet it, it's a great article. :)

Couldn't they just redirect from old URLs instead of taking them down? :/

Much appreciated! I heard from Saara, my editor there, that the site Dvoted would end in its current form (a Nordic model). Instead, country-specific sites will take over. As far as I know, the Finnish site will be up by April. I don't have any information whether the article will be available during the time in between, although she assured me that it will be preserved and posted in the new site. At the moment the "old" url still seems to be working, but as I said, there is no guarantee it will be available in the future, before the new site is up. Another reason to go grab it quickly :)

Want to know everything needs to be known from our production? I, the producer of "What Became of Us", spilled my guts on a three-part Dvoted.net article where I reveal just about everything that happened in the project. It's a long read but have fun, folks :) http://www.dvoted.net/Knowledge/Articles/Film-production/A-POST-MORTEM-OF-MAKING-AN-INDIE-FEATURE/ Oh, and one more thing... if you are a Twitterer, please do us a favor and spread the word: http://twitter.com/mistyfriday/status/12570176541171712

I guess over one year into its theatrical premiere in Finland, the movie didn't generate enough buzz to propel it into new markets. Unless you want to do it yourself! Then by all means contact us at mistyfriday@mistyfriday.com

WHAT BECAME OF US > You know the film rules. Now DEMAND to see it. > Missed it in Philly?

Dam! The website says I missed it in Philly!

Hey Daniel, as far as I know there haven't been any screenings there, at least official. It also told me that I just missed it in my town when I went there now. Perhaps it says that to everybody.

WHAT BECAME OF US > Subtitle translation > Corrupted files?
by: (null)

I just tried to download the english language text file and it looked like this... (see attached file) Has it become corrupted or is it just me having this problem?

Alright, now I downloaded the files, didn't touch them (as I didn't want to mess them up) and uploaded straight to the original task. Hope it works now :D

Okay! I think I've fixed it now, even the last few boxes have gone. The text encoding that seems to work best is UTF-8, it even works for Chinese characters.

Ok, then. Could you Kris do the same conversion to other files?

I had been using WordPad to work on my translation due to past issues with the Italian accented letters, so I had not noticed any problems with the line breaks... Anyhow, Kris' new file seems to also work in the browser. Just let me know if I can make any additional tests for you guys.

Tianyi, yes, I get those weird characters as well if I view through the browser, but there are only a few of them now and if people are replacing the lines anyway they should delete them at the same time. BTW, all I did was open the file in Wordpad, copy it to Notepad, then save it in Notepad. For some reason that makes the formatting more durable.
