The Legend of Zelda > Filming Locations > Locations locations... by: Carole Clark
Behind my house looks alot like the Kokiri Forest, and is the fall (because i live in VT) it looks like the "dead" Kokiri forest. I think there are some pretty big trees along with normal sized ones...I don't think you want to trek all the way to VT...

Well the forest is dead for part of the film, and i actually have some friends in VT. Feel free to take pictures and send them in; even if we don't film there, it's still good reference.
The Legend of Zelda > Filming Locations > Locations locations... We mainly want to film Zelda in California, but are willing to film anywhere on the west coast. However, stock footage can come from any corner of the globe.
So the task for now is this: Do you know or live by any particular locations/buildings that scream Zelda to you?
Here are some settings to keep in mind/jog your brain.Remember that it's okay to take creative license, it doesn't have to be like you remember it if it is a better idea.

The Legend of Zelda > Filming Locations > Redwood Forest by: Shades
I think the redwood forest would make a good Kokiri Forest.
There is *lots* of big trees there.
Also, the endor scenes in star wars were filmed there, so I do not think you filming there would be much of a problem.

@Michael Cruz nice to see you poking around here. Looking at pictures of the river, and it's definitely an option. I found some lesser known places in the foothills of the sierras too. so many different rivers to consider

@Bre The Sequoia National Park would work well. The King River Canyon (near to Sequoia National Park) would also make a cool Zora River Valley.
The Legend of Zelda > Filming Locations > Some places in Sweden by: David Jansson
Here are some places I could take photos of, depending on how soon you need them.
http://www.ekenasslott.nu/ Could probably get there sometime this summer.
A whole lot of timber cottages, one of which is currently my home: http://alvekatt.deviantart.com/art/Me-107174913 Can take photos as soon as the snow has melted.
I'll edit this shot if I can think of anyplace else that might fit.

Awesome, if nothing else any location photos can be used as inspirational art for the design process. No time frame yet, so no need to rush.

The Legend of Zelda > Filming Locations > Some thoughts on locations by: Peter Vesterbacka
I think you can find pretty much all the locations you need in California and the west coast in general. On the other hand you can also make use of the fact that there's people from all over the planet here on Wreckamovie and do some green screening as well. Check out how the Snowblind crew made use of that on here, there's hundreds of photos that were submitted by wreckers around the world and were used by Kalle Max & Co. Using some backgrounds from outside of California could make it a bit more exotic and unique.
And I'm sure you will find lots of people willing to help. The list of locations is a bit overwhelming, but Zelda fans should know all of those anyway;-)

Pulling elements from other countries is a must, it can't just be CA because Hyrule isn't CA.
The Legend of Zelda > Filming Locations > Prague Castle by: Martin Lejeune
dunno if we have any Czech wreckers but I remember Prague Castle looking very hyrule-ish

It definitely works for inspiration, if we end up modeling the castle. Actually we will end up modeling the castle, but for exterior/wide shots, on-location castle will be for all the acting.

Hmm I didn't know those were the same trees as Star Wars, and now part me is nerding out about the fact that I've been on Endor o.O
The Redwoods are definitely an option. I was looking at the Sequoia National Park a little too, mainly for the Sherman General ( i think that's what it's called... that really big tree). I love to find some people who work in the parks who know the trails really well and know spots that would work best. know the parks do provide the service for a price, but anyway to keep the budget low.
