Okay, I'm going to open this one up fully to everyone. Last year, Ratna made the suggestion that China Doll and Dr Brand were connected, so far that Brand kidnapped China for his own selfish reasons; I also said I would try and capitalize on his idea too (or at least I think I said that). So, here we are, at this point, where I open the suggestion for looking at a side story, and how it could work, along the same vein as the limited series in comics. It still has an important connection to Human Tank (especially given Brand shows his cards near the end of Rematch), and the First Universe as a whole, while at the same time giving us a little more information about the stuff that's happening behind the scenes (and, as such, not actually involving the Human Tank in a major role).

So, I open this up to you guys: how do you think we should approach the side story? My own contribution sits with how Brand and China came to meet, specifically that they made a deal, which eventually went sour after her arrest with the police. But what do you guys think?

I'm not sure why I hadn't closed this about six months ago. Looks like mine's the only script going for Origin. Feel free to contribute to the other open shots, especially "Rematch", since it is the most recent one. If you have an idea that you might like to contribute, just say so.

Which would be a movie, China Doll's capture, or the Human Tank thing itself? If the former, I am looking for someone who's prepared to take on coming up with a plot and writing it. If the latter...well, the movie's actually a long way down the pipeline at the moment, we want to do one, but not just yet.

The Human Tank > Story ideas: Rematch > A little more of the plot
Okay, first thing I'm going to say is, I'm sorry for not keeping the project up to date the past few months (off-net problems kinda arose). That said, though, I'm not putting this project on hold for any reason whatsoever; instead, I'm going to try and make it come thicker and faster, if I can. Now, for the next story (yes, I know, the scripts for the last two are not yet finished; give me time, please). I may be bringing this on a little too fast (if so, I have another idea in the background that may be usable), but I think it may be a good time for Jamie and Dr Brand to meet again. However, I am going to slightly change the Alden Brand character slightly (and in a way that is, in a manner, a tip of the hat to a suggestion that was made right at the very beginning of the project). So, here goes, with the start of this idea: A shrouded man meets up with a black market trader, who offers him a vial of some kind of liquid; the trader calls it "359", a name the man recognizes. However, when he offers a price, the man says it's too high for him, and suggests a "discount", at which point he pulls a psi-shaped blade and stabs him with it (covering the trader's mouth as he does so, so as to prevent him screaming). The hooded man then takes the vial, and leaves. A couple of days later, police are surrounding the area where the trader was killed (as it was somewhat out of the way, and not very open), when one detective (coincidentally, the same one that was investigating Zeki's murder) notices the shape of the stab wound. He turns around to a subordinate, and says, "We have a problem." Ayn knocks on Jamie's door, and Jamie lets her into his house. She hands him a piece of paper, with the psi symbol on it, the same one that was stabbed into the trader's chest. Jamie recognizes it immediately, and Ayn knows it: she was reporting on Zeki's murder when he was having his witness statement taken by the police. She asks him if he knows who it is, and, after making her promise to keep it between them, he tells her: Dr Alden Brand. In another part of town (a hotel room), Alden enters, and locks the door behind him. He then sits down on the bed, pulls out the vial, and grabs a syringe. He fills the syringe with 359, and then injects it into his arm. After a short while, he starts to convulse painfully and sweat heavily, but eventually this subsides. Raising a hand to the air, he is amazed when a small curl of ice forms in his palm. Back at Jamie's house, Ayn asks him why he doesn't "do the Human Tank thing" with Alden; Jamie explains that Alden disappeared shortly after he broke into his house to confront him, so the murder is the first time he's heard of his return, and even then, he knows better than to return to his own home. Ayn suggests that, since he wouldn't return to his home, it might be a good place to start looking for hints as to why he's back. They do break into Alden's house (through the back way), and start searching around his house. Jamie eventually finds Alden's study, and a few folders sitting on his desk, one of which is labelled "Trial 359". He briefly reads through it, noticing the list of patients in the cancer trial Astraea was part of, as well as an addendum talking about something called "Mutagen 359". However their expedition is cut short when a couple of security guards turn up; Jamie notices the security camera blinking in the study, and tells Ayn to run with the file, while he deals with the guards (which he does). ...And that's where the ideas kinda grind to a halt. Eventually I want to have Alden and Jamie come to blows again (and this time, proper blows, with Alden's newfound powers), but I'm not sure 1) how he can use them to get his attention (the idea I had when I first came up with this was that he would use an icicle version of his psi-blade to kill someone, and I think that's the best way to go at the moment); and 2) how he could use his powers to fight him (again, the original idea was to use the metallic psi-knife, but with it being inlaid with magnesium, but how that could be useful is where I get stuck). Additionally, I also want Alden to drop one hell of a revelation on Jamie: that without Alden, the Human Tank ceases to exist, so he can't harm him like he would want to. This one's probably the roughest plot I've come up with thus far, and may be the most complex too (at least at the moment), but just some additional ideas may be useful (or if you think I am on a good path, just say so). So, fire away, guys.

Okay, finally have a little more to add to the plot:

After Ayn disappears from the house, she opens the file again, again noticing Astraea's name on the list. She decides to pay her a visit in jail.

Meanwhile, Brand walks around town, and notices a man walk out of a club and down an alleyway. He decides to follow him, and goes down the alley as well. When he sees the man try to light up a cigarette, he decides to help him out a little by raising the temperature of the end of the cigarette (while the flame is not lit). The guy notices this, then sees Alden at the end of the alleyway; he immediately throws the cigarette towards a wall, and tries to back away from Alden. Alden forms a knife of ice in his hand, and backs the man against a wall, before stabbing him, and throwing the knife against the wall and leaving the alley.

Ayn sits at a table in a jail as Astraea walks in. She sits, and Ayn asks her about the trial, specifically if she ever saw who ran it. Astraea tells her she met him, and that it was Alden. Ayn, curious and slightly confused, asks her why a metallurgist was running a cancer trial; Astraea corrects her by explaining that Alden is not a metallurgist, but a geneticist, dropping a big piece of the puzzle in her lap. She leaves, and Astraea returns to her cell.

Ayn and Jamie meet up, Ayn explaining she got the information she needed, while Jamie had to knock the security guys unconscious before escaping, then redirect them after he got out of his armour. Ayn explains that Alden is a geneticist, not a metallurgist; Jamie corrects her by saying he's now a serial murderer, as he shows her a stop-press article saying a body had been found.

The pair turn up at the alleyway where the body is, and Ayn uses her journalistic privilege to get as much information as she can: that the man was murdered with a psi-shaped blade, and the weapon is missing, thus proving Jamie correct. He then gets an idea, and asks Ayn to help him.

That afternoon, Ayn announces on the news that the Human Tank had issued a challenge to the murderer: turn himself in, or face being tracked down by him. Everyone sees this threat made, including the Police Commissioner, who reopens his safe, pulling out the vials that were given to him (in Grey Areas). He then takes one, and calls some of his police officers together, explaining that one of them would have to make the ultimate sacrifice to become a better person. One officer, Constable Peel, steps forward, and offers himself for the experiment. He is injected with the vial's contents, and begins convulsing.

Jamie thanks Ayn for putting the challenge forward on his behalf, but Ayn is skeptical: she is not sure it would work, as he would most likely try to avoid detection as much as possible. Jamie assures her it will work, somehow, as he will eventually make a mistake.

True to his word, that night, while Jamie is out in town (carrying a backpack, which contains his armour), he spots a woman in an alley being attacked by a man in a hooded cloak with an icicle knife shaped like the psi-knife. At that point, Jamie realises that the man is Alden, and runs towards him. Alden notices him, and runs off, leaving the woman, and Jamie gives chase.

Eventually Jamie (who has now changed into his armour) and Alden make it out into an abandoned open area. Jamie tells Alden he can't escape now, at which point Alden produces his original knife, now with magnesium strips along the blades, which suddenly become hotter and light up. Jamie is amazed at what happened to the knife, and Alden tells him he will enjoy using it on him; they then commence fighting.

Alden tries to swing the odds in his favour by heating up the metal in Jamie's suit; it works to a degree, as he suffers underneath the heating, but refuses to take it off. Alden makes the mistake of approaching him, and he uses his claws to swipe across Alden's hand, essentially shifting his concentration from Jamie to his own wrist, freeing Jamie from his heated suit. He then pins Alden to the ground, and requests him to give himself in. Alden then drops his own little bombshells: that he knows Jamie Seward is the Human Tank, that he kidnapped China after she visited him, and that his knife had actually been created by a metallokinetic under his "employ".

The police turn up in the open area, and Alden makes the statement to Jamie and the police that, without him, the Human Tank cannot exist, because "he created him". This statement makes Jamie release Alden, and he runs free, leaving Jamie in a state of shock and disappointment. However, the police insist on him standing down, placing his hands behind his head and removing his helmet. Jamie reveals he's not the one he should be arrested, but the police do not listen and take it as a sign of resistence; in response, knowing he is a superhuman vigilante, they ask Constable Peel, whose musculature has now been bulked up, to take him in. Jamie realises quickly that he cannot affect Peel in the same way he can hurt normal humans, and as such tries to avoid his blows, all the while trying to convince him that they are on the same side. He does, however, find that he can still cut Peel's skin, and does so in order to affect his escape. Peel gets the other police to follow him.

When the police finally catch up with him, Jamie's out of his suit, and sitting in the alley out of breath. When the police ask him where the Human Tank went, he points down the alley, and they follow his direction.

Later that night, Ayn turns up at Jamie's house. He's seated on the couch, with a diagram of the human skeleton in one hand, and a pencil in another. She tells him that she knows Alden escaped him, and that he was lucky to escape the police again, especially the now-superhuman Peel. Jamie agrees half-heartedly. When Ayn asks what he's doing, he simply responds, "Making myself better."

Meanwhile, in the police house gym, Peel, with his wrist in a bandage, walks around before punching a bag, breaking it open. He mutters under his breath that he will bring the Human Tank in, some day.

And scene. As you'll all notice, I've wrapped up a few stray threads in this, and collated a few ideas here as well, including those by Ratna and Carl, while introducing another potential antagonist for Seward: the superstrong Constable Peel. Granted, I ended up doing a little retconning in turn, but I think it'll work well for the story.

What does everyone think of the full plot for this? Ideas and opinions please. Feel free to say what you wish.

Okay, that's a pretty big jump there. I may have a few ideas to help fill in some of the gaps, which means we can, in some way, incorporate this into the plot in some manner. I'll send you a private message, and discuss this with you.

Dr.Brand was fascinated by the existence of such a new creature that he wanted to test out samples of her skin. And so, he followed her and got to the store and as he was about to catch her, Jamie came out of nowhere. So Brand stayed back to see what happens. He notices the dark energy under the China Doll and gets the idea of creating a shield...so that he can become the ultimate invincible warrior who will rule the world..wrahahahaha

Okay...so, explain to me what the idea is behind her capture by Brand. What is his motive? You do (in a roundabout way) make a point of the fact that China does seem to walk out of Jamie's house a little too easily. So, why does he capture her?
