InsideOut Ep.8 - Captain Stöcklin

Posted August 29, 2010 by Thierry Gschwind 3 Thumb-ups

Quite a while since we made an InsideOut. During my stay in Switzerland, I recorded an interview with Cédric Gerold, the guy who play Captain Stöcklin, the main protagonist in Star Wreck 2pi.

At this point I want you to remember that the Oslo shoot will be in one month (24/25/26th September). The last chance to appear in the movie.

We have know more InsideOuts than "In the Pirkinning".

Somehow it doesn't seem to play correctly? I've reloaded it a couple times but playback always stops at 1:22...?!?

Thierry Gschwind August 29, 2010 21:04 Flag

Hmm... have the problem too, but only in 480p and 720p. Will recheck it later.

Kris S. August 30, 2010 12:48 Flag

Nice interview! :)

But yeah, I can only get it to work on 360p. Any higher resolution stops at about 1:15.

Perfectly on time for the Italian Star Trek Convention! ;)

Kalle Max Hofmann May 17, 2010 16:25 Flag

Cool! Some of the space and bridge shots look totally awsome, real pro league stuff! What I really dislike though is the typeface you used for "Polybos Studios" and the title... but then again, it's not my business ;P

Keep up the good work!

Kris S. May 17, 2010 18:13 Flag

Yay... nice. :D

BTW Thierry, there are one or two spelling things in the credits, hopefully there's time to correct them.

-I would say "of a Fabienne Gschwind film" rather than "from"

-"Produced by" instead of "procuded by"

-"Therry" instead of "Thierry" ;)

Thierry Gschwind May 17, 2010 18:24 Flag

Kalle: Maybe we should do a task, to create a nice text.
Kris: Your probably the only person to read that.

Martin Lejeune May 18, 2010 12:21 Flag

There's some really great stuff in here, but also some shots that need work. It might be worth sticking the close up of Pirk on the balcony up as a task, it looks like it could do with rotoscoping around the hands where there is an issue with motion blur. He's also a tad over saturated compared to the backplate.

-The shot of the view screen activating and scaring the guy cleaning it wants to happen a bit sooner so he reacts to Pirks image

-The shot of Pirk in his palace needs to have the background blurred as it is in better focus then the footage of Pirk which stands out.

The bridge stuff looks amazing as do the final renders of Yann's designs and once the other stuff is given a lick of polish and a colour grade this is going to be quite something!

Thierry Gschwind May 18, 2010 17:43 Flag

I should have mentioned that all the effects are not done yet.

Pirk Balcony Close up:
It's not just the montion blur. Also the garbage matte is not yet ready. And the flashing is not yet correct.
Also in the wide shot you havn't seen the real big bug. Let's see if someone finds it.

Screen clear:
Need to fade in Pirk a little ealier.

Pirk's office:
Going to change anyway, since the texture and materials was done quickly, and the rendering setting were quite low.

Bridge:
The monitors animation are missing.
