Star Wreck 2pi - Twistdrive shooting in Tampere

Tampere, Sept 23rd 2009
The movie "Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning" started a revolution in collaborative filmmaking and distribution. It was also the inspiration that led to the creation of Wreckamovie, the global collaborative filmmaking community and winner of the MindTrek Grand Prix award 2008. Now Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning is also inspiring new fan productions of its own. Working with the global filmmaking community on Wreckamovie, Thierry and Fabienne Gschwind, two Swiss Star Wreck fans and passionate filmmakers, have created Star Wreck 2pi Twistdrive, a tribute to Star Wreck. And just to be clear, Star Wreck 2pi is not Star Wreck 7 (a sequel to Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning), 2pi actually equals 6.283, which means that the action takes place between 6 and 7. Got it?
To make Star Wreck 2pi Twistdrive into a full feature length movie, Thierry and Fabienne set up the production on Wreckamovie. Wreckers (members of the Wreckamovie community) from Croatia, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Indonesia, Mexico, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine and the UK have joined the production and helped make Star Wreck 2pi real. And there's still an opportunity for more people, anybody can help and join the production at http://wreckamovie.com/star-wreck-2pi
But. No Star Wreck would be complete without the appearance of Pirk and Dwarf, Samuli Torssonen and Timo Vuorensola, the two young men who started the phenomenon. And Tampere had something to do with it too. With this in mind, Thierry and Fabienne, are coming to Tampere to shoot some key scenes of Star Wreck 2pi during the MindTrek week. And they are not coming alone, wreckers from all over the place are joining them. And anybody happening to be at MindTrek in Tampere is welcome to join as an actor or extra, it is all about collaborative filmmaking after all.
