As the characters are zombies, consider these options---

1) Have the uniforms button in the back. Given their zombie state, the troops might require humans to dress them for combat. The human handlers would prefer not to look into the face of a zombie trooper during that gruesome task.

2) Sew the uniforms right onto the zombie, without any visible fasteners. As they exist solely for combat, there is little point in making their uniforms removeable.

In fact, the only real purpose of the uniforms would be to easily identify the troops from the rest of the German forces.

Maybe the bad stuff is a result of some bad thing that managed to escape from Tibet? Dalai Lama and his monks are the secret guardians and as part of the unrest in Tibet, the "thing" manages to escape, only to re-appear in Kentucky in the form of the nazi zombies.

Starts to sound like a Dan Brown book or something;-)

Also need to be careful with references to Tibet and Dalai Lama, some people tend to get excited when these are discussed. On the other hand getting your movie banned in some countries could be good marketing...
