New computer recieved

Posted March 13, 2010 by David Jansson 2 Thumb-ups

New computer recieved.

But it has a problem, it has the only nvidia graphics card that doesn't have Linux drivers. Any 3d applications are slower than my old laptop as a result. (But everything else is lightning fast... the whole system boots in about ten seconds...)

Since I asked the guy I bought it from to build the computer to specification, that is a Linux computer for 3d-animation work, he has told me that he will let me send the card back and he will find one that works. Still, this sets Stick Wreck back until I have the new card.

I am a wee bit frustrated right now.

You have no idea how big problems I had with Linux. (In my old computer)

You have the same situation as I had with my new computer. I had to wait for the computer so I used my new screen as a laptop screen. I allmost forgot that I'm still working with my old laptop.

Oh well. I am back on my laptop for the time being, even if it can't handle animation, I can still do modelling on it. (And there is just a bit of that left.) And I have a big and good screen now at least.

Basic Linux driver problem :) Nvidia should should support Linux well...
