Snowblind is a 3D movie!

Posted March 28, 2010 by Kalle Max Hofmann 6 Thumb-ups

My fellow Wreckers,

today we proudly announce that Snowblind is in fact the first post-apocalyptic independent greenscreen western in 3D ever.

To give you a first impression of how this will look like, we've put together a little teaser. To watch it, you need some of those red/cyan glasses.

That clip can be seen on vimeo

And on youtube of course (albeit in lesser quality)

Since the film was shot monoscopically, it's a bit of a challenge sometimes to get a good three-dimensional impression. As you can see by the guns being held into the camera, we're doing our best though ; )

Your feedback on how this "cardboard-3D" works for you is more appreciated than ever!

Cheers,
Kalle-Max ^_^

Sorry to say i'm a sceptic with 3D. If still waiting for smooth 3D, not the obviously layered cardboard 3D. Even Avatar seemed cardboard.

But that is freakin' awesome! How did you do that!? I always thought you needed two cameras from different angles to make it 3D, but obviously i'm behind the curve.

Zorro-type stylished Snowblind 3D glasses in the DVD box would be awesome.

"the first post-apocalyptic independent greenscreen western in 3D" is a mouthful, though. Not the best tagline, unless you venture deep into the camp movie field.

But it's a marvel that you've created something completely new to the movie field. That is a rare thing, indeed. I'm sure others will follow.

Well Seppo, if the film will be released in the so-called "anaglyph" format it will surely come with glasses... But I don't like that too much as it's really hard on the eyes and the colors are mostly lost...

The 3D version is rather destined fpr the new techniques of shutter or filter glasses that are coming out for home just now... The stereoscopic teaser is just there to give you an impression how Snowblind will look in three dimensions ^_^

Do youi include the red/cyan glasses on DVD box material too?

You guys should make some Snowblind glasses and make them available for all of us to order;-)

Great! A lot of firsts. Also the first 3D movie on Wreckamovie I believe. Showed the current trailer during my pitch at the San Diego Indiefest film festival, think you got a few more fans;-)

Hehhe I thought about that, too... but no, we're serious :D
