'De Laatste Roker', which is Dutch for 'The Last Smoker', will be a short film based on a short story bearing the same name, which was written by Dutch author W.F. Hermans in 1990. The plot revolves around an old, lonely man living in the Netherlands in the 2020s, a time when smoking has been banned completely. Having a smoke or even owning tobacco is considered a serious offence. The protagonist, however, refuses to quit smoking, and becomes something of a rebel.

The film and its propaganda will be in Dutch. However, the lingua franca concerning this production here on WAM will be English until further notice.
