Will try to give it some thought...

Reinold > Lyrics > Some lines
The tune is somewhat ready. I could leave the intro open to be composed to new lyrics, but the main part of the song has its tune (which of course can be adjusted). I could send an mp3 on request. I might as well upload it here, but I'd need to re-record it before that. Some lose ideas of the lyrics: Reinold is looking at Santa taking off with his reindeers on Christmas eve. He sings (yes, preferably in 1st person) how he'd love to be the guiding reindeer, seing all the children around the world, beautiful Christmas decorated towns. Here's an mp3 of the tune. The first bars is just a small quotation from "Rudolf the renosed reindeer" and might as well be used in the final song. But the next section is just an improvised parlando part and could be re-composed if someone would like to write the lyrics without a ready tune. After the parlando you hear the main part, which is somewhat ready composed. A sax plays the melody and you hear a jazz trio accompanying it. Everything is done in one go (I mean one track at a time) with a crappy midi keyboard, but I bet you get the tune. It's played twice, or actually one time, then a free improvisation of half the tune and the 2nd half follows the melody. Imagine some male voices, like a barbershop quartet, singing the parlando, something about Santa, Rudolph, all reindeers preparing to take off, and little Reinold looking at all the fuss. Then a child voice sings the main part and tells in 1st person how he longs to be the guiding reindeer.

Don't know what the proper way is to upload something. I did it inside the Lyrics task, but since I only edited the task, I guess it doesn't show up as some new activity. Anyway, this should show up. There's an mp3 of the tune. And a funny rhyme dictionary I did last year.

Johan, looks like you uploaded it fine! I'll try and contribute something when I get a spare moment.

Reinold > Animation > Model?
by: Daniel Saarimäki

Do you have any models ready, or do I have to make my own? This doesn't mean that I will make the animation, but I will think about it. Edit: Sorry. Didn't read the other task :)

There is one thing in 3D that I want to notice to you. I'm good animator, not a good modeller. I can't model a good reindeer...

Nice mood in your video. There's no particular reason why to pick either 2D or 3D. It depends completely on the artist, who wants to do it. I only hope that the same outlook can be achieved both in 2D and 3D. Say that a 2D artist draws a beautiful cute reindeer calf. It can easily be done too complicated to be transfered into some 3D modelling software. Or the other way around. A 3D animation artist might concentrate on creating a recognisable reindeer that can easily be programmed, but forgets to actually create something uniquely interesting in the visual appearance, so that when the reindeer is drawn as a simple 2D contoured cartoonish character, there is nothing interesting and appealing in it.

As I said, that reindeerr in the project pic is doen with Anime Studio. You can see the handles there. It's not a very good one. The body is too long, which makes him look like an adult reindeer. I could shorten it a bit and render the small animation of him walking, just to work as a motivator for anyone.

The song might be 3 to 4 minutes long. I know that takes weeks of animation work, but the world is full of talented amateurs. This could be your ticket to fame. Read the lyrics task to get an idea of what the story might be.
