Nobilitas > Dialogues > Timeline and selected families
by: Mikko Sillanpää

Between 149 - 57 BCE members of the families chosen have been consules at following years: 147, 143, 142, 138, 134, 130, 123, 119, 117, 115, 113, 111, 109, 98, 92, 83, 80, 79, 69, 68, 60 and 57. Roughly calculated every fourth year. If we would replace Gracchi with Cornelii Lentuli and Claudii Pulchri with Calpurnii Pisones we could get the number higher, but we would lose wonderful stories and important historical events. In any case we need to map out potential characters (what criteria should be set?), events and aspects of the life of nobilitas we wish to tell about. Also worth to investigate are relationships between these family groups. I have mapped out previously the situation in the 60's, and I'll attach a chart I have made about that here. Also attached is the start for the basic timeline and information listing to help us in our work.

Using nouned verb instead of noun :-) Nobilitare = to make known / renowned. Nobilitatus is passive participe perfect form of it, hence it means "made renown". I did a quick check from OLD and it seems that the word has been used at least by Cicero and Livy, so it should be safe to use.
Yahya Hautamäki gave a shot "nobilitat.us" for Nobilitas

Hello everyone! Here's a task that's as practical as it can ever be: Come up with an idea what domain we shall register in order to build our first real site for the production. Tip: You can check if the domain name you would like to suggest is already taken e.g. from whois.com. Tip 2: Yes, the obvious nobilitas.org is taken already by someone else.

SVBEEV & Salam Dear All, I have eMailed the owner of .org-address with high hopes. Apparently the gentleman has aquired ownership over several similar addresses and might be able to transfer organisational domain for the project. Thumbs up, guys. Wa Salam, Y.
