It's really strange that lots of small productions get a couple of "1"s from "top 1000 voters", whose votes weigh a lot more in the final rating than "normal" voters. By that, ratings are totally trashed.
This also happened to fellow production Star Wreck 2pi.

Two of these strange "top 1000 voter" votes of one, and the rating is only a 3.8 when it should be a 5.3 considering the "true" average.
With Snowblind, its almost the same with a 4.1 opposed to a true average of 5.7...
really strange business. Let's hope the same thing won't happen to MBE!

Votes of 10 are bad by the way, because they are considered to be manipulation attempts by the algorhythm that calculates the final rating.

I think your first attempt was actually the best ;)
That's a known phenomenon that we call "verschlimmbessert" in German - roughly translated: "fixed to death" :P
In my opinion, all that was missing was some conrast. Like so. The next step to make it even better would be now to darken some of the skin tones which are too bright now on some of the actors. And of course, ADD LENS FLARES ;P
If I have some time later, I'll try and make some suggestions. The bottom line is, your first setup was actually pretty good :D
edit: Here are versions with more balanced skin tones, blue logo and also a new Neptune & Triton that match the lighting of actors, ship and lens flare =)

Whoever does it should have a look at Hannu's advice in that post, and make the "1st" and "2nd" smaller in the assistant director section :P

Yeah exactly, the one the right is the most advanced/recent one.
But I don't have that credit line, is it here on Wreckamovie somewhere?
