Concern raised about future

Posted January 02, 2011 by Samuli Jomppanen 1 Thumb-up

Due to continous problems, and some missteps and mistakes we have taken along the course of making this, we're in talks about how to proceed to maintain project progress. Few ideas i've been thinking as a solution, to combat problems, and shortening timespan available are as follows.

Continue, as we do now, and hope that we pick necessery speed over coming spring, and manage to get film mostly done by Autumn.

Make serious changes in script, to shorten the story (not much slack there anymore, before it really starts to hurt the story). Option i am myself not so keen for somehow.

Make radical style changes, and turn over to radiodrama - semi-comic style of thing (cant really say examples, but like seen in some Videogame cinematics). This option is most viable, and easiest, but the project will definedly lose a lot of visual punching power due to "static imagery". Would have to compensate with very rich and vibrant soundworks.

So a lot on my plate now, stuff to think about... Any ideas or suggestions are more than welcome.

This project has a very good potential to be recognized internationally so I would not rush things.

Since this project isn't a commercial one we should take time and make this as great as possible!

Well, whatever happens... the community will be here to support you as much as possible. I'll be hoping that things resolve more positively than feared! *fingers crossed*

Schedule extending is not really an option. Generally it would work, but there are.. other things starting to overlap, and i would not be able to "be on there" for the project late autumn, even the people working now on it, had no problem on that.

And i doubt things would get done without me having presence there.

...or you could extend the schedule? If you're not doing a project commercially then you are freer to take your time getting it right.

If you have to cut something, make it a shorter film rather than a lower quality one. It's far better to have a high quality short.

i'll also post this to the official blog.
