Dysarthria

Posted April 04, 2012 by Samuli Jomppanen 2 Thumb-ups

So as some of you might have noticed. After one and another, for no apparrent reason (atleast to me) None of the chosen Narrators have send in any recordings, the question must be raised..

To do sub-sub-par ... or not to do at all? (fixed :D)

Is it of any worth to do sub-bar this thing (meaning, to use any ... just any narrator). Or not complete the project at all and admit failure?

for a second there I was wondering what you meant, the word you mean is actually sub-par, not -bar... but in the context of a (limbo-) bar being lowered, it also makes sense once you think about it ;P

Returning to the not-so-pleasant topic, do you really think you have to write that last guy off entirely? Maybe he just doesnt have time atm...

Also, doing something later doesn't mean to not do it at all, and I think a project like this is never a failure as a lot has been learned.

So let's just wait for a bit longer ^_^
One important lesson I learned from Snowblind is: We should've been more patient, then we hadn't lost so much money. Oh well ^_^

Two new things to tell you about

Posted November 10, 2011 by Samuli Jomppanen 1 Thumb-up

Firstly, original materia got some more ego rubbing few days ago, when it was commented on by Finnish, well know Animation director Kari Juusonen. Read more about this from:
http://materia.planetblender.org/?p=336

Secondly, the project has yet again beeing stopped by problems. Even the second guy assigned for the VA work, seems to have skipped it, so still no sound. Read more about this:
http://materia.planetblender.org/?p=333

Thirdly, (a bonus) should you wish to take part on this project in terms of doing the dialogue of the Narrator, i am still open for "submissions". (putting up an task again)

Nah, i've sort of allready gotten over the abundance of problems on this project. They seem never ending.

Oh man, running no-budget-projects can be such a pain in the back! I never understand why people make promises they cant keep in the firstplace. Being let down like that hurts much more than a simple "sorry, but no" right away. Don't take it personal though, it's just entertainment business =/

Worry not. The original auditions were so numerous that i've allready contacted a replacement, and he has agreed to do the recording. :)

Auditions are in

Posted September 17, 2011 by Samuli Jomppanen 1 Thumb-up

A nice bunch of auditions for the Narrator of M2 came in. Now comes the part where i get to pick the best one out. And sort out all of the details.

How ever, i've been just EXTREMELY busy with life (namely school) during past few weeks, that i have had literaly zero time to spent on anything project related, so the Audiodrama version of the script is still under work (though i am glad to say its over half way done allready, but still it was supposed to be done by this time)

Anyay, wreck on...

Sounds good! Plus you can also do the set building yourself when finally the Hollywood version of Materia goes into production :D

I've taken up to learn some "manual" working. Got myself into "Machinist" school to learn welding, lathing and milling.

Yeah i know, bit strange choise, but forced by current economic situtation to pick a "profession" that could actually have work.

Good news! Erm BTW, what school?
