The Iron Sky: Operation Highjump -team is looking for your ideas and comments. Join and show your support for Iron Sky: Operation Highjump. New graphics examples
Given that many things have changed since we posted the previous example graphics catalogues, we've closed the old resource and are replacing the catalogues with new ones in the future. Building and publishing the new catalogues might take some time with our busy schedule however, so we wanted to give you a couple of teaser shots to give you some idea of what to expect. The following screenshots are taken within the game engine, though they do not accurately present the final quality. The level in the background is from our internal demo (which took place in 1940 when the base was under construction) instead of any actual game level. Example props from the demo level:
Example weapon model (work in progress):
[edit:]
Please note that the weapon models only include basic basic color texture without any details (signs of use and wear etc, things that make props look realistic).

If only the Reich Still Existed ' :)
Ryan: I again removed some of your comments for excessive cussing. I'm asking you again to stay calm and keep your comments civil, I'd prefer not to have to ban you.
Ryan, it seems to me that the name "Iron Sky: Operation High Jump" speaks well for itself. It makes it clear that it is affiliated with "Iron Sky" (the movie) but is a separate endeavor that ties into "Operation Highjump."
You DO know what "Operation Highjump" was, don't you? And, don't bother answering it if you can't do so without sounding like a drug-fried pre-teen hopped on too much of Daddy's coffee as a fringe boost, okay?

...tried to delete at least, the comment deletion system isn't behaving as it should.
Removed those of Ryan's comments that were inappropriate. I understand that you're disappointed, but please keep it civil.
Ryan, please clean up your purile spamposts. Just because you can't post your criticisms in a constructive manner doesn't mean the rest of the world wants to read through your repeated, unnecessary multi-posting run-ons.
You clearly choose not to think about the dynamics necessary in making a video game based upon a movie which itself still hasn't reached completion. It's not at all uncommon for a game like this, that's aiming to be complex and intriguing and original while still maintaining the general backdrop of its parent "Iron Sky" to take months, or a few years, to come together.
Very sorry to disappoint you. Looks like our opinons clash on what makes a game worthwhile.
The weapon model in the screenshot is work-in-progress and still missing it's final textures (including normal maps) as it says in the description. Still, as Carl said we're doing a prequel set in the WW2 era so futuristic sci-fi weapons won't be an option.
The game combat, however, is turn-based and the general game mechanics are closer to an RPG than to a first person shooter, so I fear this isn't quite the game you seemed to be hoping for.
People, Want to see Iron Sky soldiers
Iron Sky Is about Moon Nazis. Post WW1 Machine guns? Why?
Ryan, they are not making it SCI-FI, because it is set in 1947 Antarctica. This is the prequel to the movie. Did you read the SYNOPSIS?
"Operation Highjump is a real time 3rd person single player action adventure game set in an alternate history equivalent of WWII era.
A standalone story in the world of Iron Sky, the plot revolves around a secret underground Nazi base on the Antarctica before the Nazis leave for the Moon. The game will be set entirely on Earth, the Moon will not be a playable area. The player characters will be mostly American scouts, but there will also be a chance to play an insider spy.
Rather than plain vanilla technical and graphical splendour, we aim for good playability, immersive plot content, strong dialogue and atmospheric environments. (Yes, that’s what they all say. But we mean it.). Add a nice big cup of strong, black humour and you've got a general idea of what we're shooting for.
The game will use Unity3D engine, it'll be in 3rd person and use an overhead camera. The game will be released on PC first, but other platforms are also considered.

You didn't? Wasted comment time...
This is the type of combat you need but in your games style. I hope there would be more enemies to shoot at thou, open space to battle. eTC

IRON SKY
Kalle: Glad to hear that!
Well I'm only a console gamer so I'm not really up to date, but I think the graphics look pretty good :D
Curtis: Yes, as said the gun models here only have basic color texture and are very different from what they will look like in the game.
Also questioning the gun textures, but then again Matti did say it does not represent the final quality.
Edited the mention that the weapons are WIP and added another work in progress rifle model.
Yeah, it will be in third person and the weapon is a work in progress that we happened to have handy for this quick graphics teaser - it's lacking proper textures so it's no wonder if it doesn't look too convincing yet. :)
Thanks for the cheers!
Hmm...Not a fan of the weapon model, specifically the textures, but if the game is in third person, then that's not a problem.
Character looks quite good, as does the level. Props also look good. Very nice work!
